So here I am, on a lazy Saturday, looking at my gemstones and jewelry, brought out my one of my oldest ring that I purchased in the mid/late 80's. A humongous amethyst that, at the moment, I just have to have. It was when network shopping had just started and I was so hooked on it. I saw this ring and purchased it, even though it was way too small for me.

Good thing I didn't just sell the ring for small amount of cash. I think I'm going to get the paraiba's out of this setting and integrate it into another setting.

Wow - what a wonderful discovery! Hopefully these will pan out as the real thing. It looks like you have a fair amount of gold to play with there, too!

WOW Mochi a good thing you kept the ring. You did luck out. I think it would be really pretty to incorporate the stones into another ring..

Wow, that must have been a very long time ago if a network was selling Brazilian paraiba.  Glad you can use them, and if your coffee table ever breaks, you can use the amethyst for that!!  LOL!!

Congrats, can't wait to see what you do with them.  Seriously though, the amethyst is very nice as well, and perhaps a pendant??

Mochi,
I am aware that there are synthetic paraibas sold by the TV networks a few years back.  I don't want to rain on your parade but I recall seeing them advertised on their website for very little money.
