I've been reading David Sedaris' books recently, and last night I was reading some of Dress Your Kids in Corduroy and DenimIn one chapter, Sedaris mentions that for fun, he used to ask people who would play them if there were a movie based on their lives (and he says it was only fun because no one would ever actually pay to see a movie of their lives.)  I thought it made for a fun PS question!

I haven't given too much thought about who would hypothetically play me...anyone else ever thought about this?

I think I'd want Drew Barrymore or Kate Hudson to play me.

That's Mrs. Hudson_Hawk to you... Over and out.

I would love to see Bette Midler portray me.

I think I'll go with Minnie Driver...she might be "quirky" enough to play me.

Hee hee. I was thinking Minnie Driver as well, for similar reasons.

Hmmm, maybe Andie McDowell. I think she could portray me well.

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Christina Ricci. I used to get the, "Omg you look like the girl from Casper!" thing all the time, plus I like her as an actress. Even though she keeps picking duds to star in! Penelope, anyone?

People sometimes tell me I look like Natalie Portman or Claire Danes.

I'd be okay with Natalie or Claire playing me.

I would really rather Catherine Zeta-Jones play me...I just loved her in Intolerable Cruelty, she was so sleek and elegant.  Maybe they could just give Minnie Driver her hair, yeah, that would work.

Sharon Stone and I could have been twins from 20-45, though I'm not as tall.

Now it would probably be some character actress

Natalie Portman, because it'd be funny to see her having to act in scenes where I got mistaken for her.

I would choose Sophia Bush (from One Tree Hill).  We don't really look alike but I think she would be the one person who would be able to portray the craziness of my life.

Salma Hayek (minus the accent). Even though I look nothing like her, and she's much shorter than me, and older than me, I just think she's an amazing actress...and she's got the Latina flavor that my actress would definitely need to capture me and my life

Plus she's hot!

Doris Day. I know this for a fact, unlike the rest of you who are merely talking about your fantasies, because when my psychotherapy client had a dream about me I was represented by Doris Day.  I mean at first he thought the dream was about Doris Day. ;-)

Catherine Keener, for sure.
We don't look alike, but we sure do act alike. She's just quirky enough.

Not based on looks because I have no clue who I look like.   I do like Sandra Bullock so I would like her to play me.

Depends on the scenes from my life....
I guess Sophia Bush.  She's cute. Alicia Silverstone.  (but she can't act).
and Anne Hathaway... who can play both bad and good girls.

Ha, TLH, you're TOTALLY Anne Hathaway!  Did you see Rachel Getting Married?  I just watched it, and wow, that movie was a trip to crazytown.  I love it when Anne plays bad girls, she's great.

I would say Charlize Theron, an award winning actress, smart, beautiful, tall !
The movie would play out similar to "The Notebook"

I loved her in Head in the Clouds, but I still look at her and can't get over the shock of her look in Monster.  She's a great actress!
