I've finally decided on my diamond and am thinking about the setting. I think I have decided on the Danhov ME29 but the top of the ring I open. Would that affect the size of the ring. I'm a very small 3 5/8 and someone on James Allen's site left a review to order the ring 1/2 size smaller than your actual size. Has anyone else had the same problem? I'm in the UK so sending it back for resizing is not an option. Any thoughts on how to get around this problem? http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-jewelry/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_294-1713.asp Can someone please help me fix the link above. Thanks in advance |

Thanks in advance Fixing link: http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-jewelry/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_294-1713.asp I love Danhov's Meno collection! If my memory serves me correctly, Adak just received the ME29. Maybe she'll be able to talk a bit about the sizing. Danhov's settings are absolutely gorgeous. I don't know if you have seen one in person or not, but they are so delicate! If you think the ring is pretty on the JA website, wait until you see it in person! I have the ME10 and couldn't be happier with the quality.

Thanks Girlie. The ME10 is gorgeous...love the split shank. I can't wait to get mine...just need to get the sizing perfect...pave rings are hard to resize. Anyone else have the ME29 ring and needed to get it in a smaller than usual size?

that's really odd. I wonder if the person who left that comment was sized incorrectly or if Dahhov made the ring in the wrong size. You could go into several jewelry stores and get a slightly different ring size depending on what type of measuring tools they use but the sizes aren't completely off. I would have JA check on the sizing. I would also have someone make sure the ring was made in the actual size you order before shipping it overseas to you. JA could do this or an independent appraiser. Rings aren't like shoe's that run differently, there is an exact measurement system in place and all the companies use it. Anyway, I would just make sure JA and Danhov know your concern so they can make sure your ring is done correctly from the get go.

I looked through some posts on the Danhov ME29. Adak sent her ring back to resize from 5.5 to 5...so I'm thinking that this might be a sizing problem with this particular design. I'm not sure about suggesting JA make it 1/2 size smaller but I now know of at least 2 people who have had to resize down by 1/2. I would be interested to hear from those who have this setting.

i guess I'm confused..a ring either is a 5. 5 or it isn't. are the people saying the rings are actually sized correctly it just fits their fingers differently so they need a smaller size? so they really should have ordered a 5? I would ask JA this question since they are the danhov dealers and see what they say. also, I would just make sure you've got someone making sure the ring is being made in the size you want. i do understand that finding other people with the issue can be nerve wracking but 2 in the probably hundreds that have been made aren't really that many. it's possible those 2 just ended up needing a smaller size and it has nothing to do with the ring design. anyway, just call up JA and tell them your concern and see what they say. they will know if this really is a common issue and if you need to be concerned about it. |

The ring is so open that it will "feel" larger than the size you ordered. Yes, a 5 is a 5, but since it isn't closed all the way around in a full circle, your finger will have more room. I would order it a half size smaller than usual.

PP, that still doesn't make sense to me, but I'm slow my friend actually has the ritani version of that ring and it was made in her size and fits fine? I guess i can kinda see how since there is no metal on the top the finger can move around a bit more making the ring feel bigger?? |

I'm guessing that as its not a full circle, the open top makes it feel looser. This is a review from the JA site: "This ring is Amazing! You can see it from across a room. I suggest ordering 1/2 size smaller than your regular ring size due to the open design at the top, it makes the ring fit looser. We had mine resized two times, no problem. I received a dozen compliments already. We ordered it with a .5 diamond and it looks great."

I'm still hoping Adak will pop in here. Maybe we should page her in one of the other forums...
