The first thing that some of the pros here may think of when they see Marty Haske's name is "inventor of the SAS2000", which is really cool technology for color and chemical analysis of diamonds and gemstones. But Marty's a top-notch appraiser as well, and I wanted to thank him here for going beyond the call of duty for me recently.

I'm not sure how many appraisers would go out in a blizzard on a job. But that's just about what Marty did for me last week...I wanted more information on a piece that was up for sale at a Boston auction house and had asked him to do a pre-sale evaluation. To my surprise, even with the big storm that went through New England over the weekend, Marty trekked into the city and reported back with a very thorough analysis, and even spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me afterwards.

It is really cool how consumers can meet and work with some of the top people in the industry through forums like this.

No surprise, Marty has always been the type of person to go the extra mile. He is recognized throughout the industry as being at the top of his game and is often called upon by the various gemological laboratories for advice, especially when it comes to the development of various technologies for diamond grading.

How cool that he would do that. Thanks for the info.
