I'm a Christmas girl at heart....love the tree, love the presents, love the sparkly lights. Love driving down the road on a weekend such as this one and seeing trees strapped to cars as they head towards their final destination. Born and raised in California, we don't see snow here...in fact today is sunny and about 65. So to those with snow on the ground right now, Christmas may not be Christmas without snow. But here...to me, it wouldn't be Christmas *with* snow!
We got our tree today and I am in the midst of trimming, decorating and re-doing the house for the holiday season, I'm a seasonal girl and my closets of seasonal decor corroborate this. Here is a picture from last year....this year will be our last Christmas and last tree for our too-small house. Next holiday we'll be in our new, much bigger place...with TWO trees; one for living room by the double french doors for the public outdoor viewing, and one for the family room where we hang out....where I absolutely REQUIRE a tree within touching distance.
![]() I'll post a picture of this year's tree later today when it's all done...but chances are it won't look much different than last year, I am a traditional girl.
![]() Please post your Christmas tree pictures here....I love to see other trees!

Normally, I have one fake tree that I like to put in the corner & a real one that I decorate and put in the dining room. This year, we are going to be gone for 2 weeks at Christmas, so we just put up the fake tree - which just isn't the same. This is the fake tree. It is pretty, but it just doesn't hold a candle to the real thing. Plus, since it was purchased for a specifically small space, it is a very skinny tree. I miss my nice big christmas tree, but my family will have one all decked out when we go up at Christmas. Growing up in a place that it snowed in the winter, and then moving to a place that doesn't, I prefer the snow. Even though it made getting around difficult, it's something that will always remind me of my childhood holidays in the snow, and so it will always be special to me. We're not getting a tree until Christmas eve, so I'll have to post my picture after then. I have two small boys (the one who's pictured at the left, who's 18 months and my other son, who's 3 years old) and they would TRASH the tree if we left it up for more than a few hours! Michelle

Here is ours!! It is a huge!!! I told my husband that we should get a smaller one, but he said no!!! Oh well. We also have one upstairs, a small fiberglass one that sits right in front of the window. Unfortunately, we didn't expect the snow this soon, we didn't get a chance to decorate outside yet. Every year since we have been married, I have collected one Hallmark Keepsake ornament for us and one for each of our kids. In the beginning, we only had two ornaments, but since then, we have collected quite a few!!! Maybe next year we'll get a smaller one!!! ![]() ![]() "I'm a Brat" - Mara (PS Queen) |

This is the tree at my soon to be Mother and Father and Laws house...At my house my mom gets a tree but doesnt decorate it,because my Mom and all her sisters are wiccan. They celebrate with "A Tree of Nature" to show that nature is with us through good times. They also exchange presents celebrating themselves. I go to my fiances moms for Christmas even though im not Christian at all... But I think now days Christmas really isnt religous whats so ever. So I go along with it...![]() I hope you come down with something they can't diagnose, don't have the cure for. |

Ha Ha Nice Gary!!! A true work of art
![]() Lovely trees everyone. I took some pix last nite of this year's tree....which looks almost the same as every year...hee hee; except when we got it home and unbagged it we realized that it's about a foot bigger than last years..woops. It dominates our small family room...but it looks breathttaking!
I noticed I seem to like my trees with more of a bottom heavy look. ![]() ________________________________ |

Something sad - I'm *highly* allergic to pine. Never could have a real tree. Fortunately, Holly is not a problem & in abundance outside our house. We usually trim some branches to bring in some live green. I can't even touch pine.

How sad F&I! Well, I love seeing all the trees. This was a great idea Mara. I don't have my tree yet and I am too excited because this will be my very first real Christmas tree as an adult. And Carlos has never had one at all so I'm super excited. As soon as I get it up, I'll post a picture.

I love Christmas, as Mara does, but I am tired :-). This year I decided to do what we did when my daughter was 2 (and I was *very* tired!!!): get a very small (1'-2') live tree and plan it after Christmas. The tiny tree we got when our daughter was 2 is now about 10' tall. It is in our backyard here, even though we weren't living in the same house when we bought it. (We transplanted it to take with us when we moved...out of sentiment.) I bought a tree at the grocery store and am trying to bring it back to health. (It was pretty dry.) I have it on the deck to keep it cool and am watering it. I think I may repot it before I bring it in. I have so many Christmas decorations that they have overwhelmed me. I have family heirloom ones and ones I have acquired myself. I could NEVER fit them on one tree...or even on two if I were lucky enough to be able to have two trees like some of you! I have to rotate the ornaments, using some one year and some the next. Even so, the tree is FULL of ornaments. That is why I usually buy a balsam instead of a graceful Douglas fir. The Douglas fir is *gorgeous*, but one cannot see the ornaments on it as easliy as on a balsam! I need *space* between all the needles, space to put more and more ornaments without it looking unattractive! At ay rate, it is probably my overabundance of ornaments and the thought of taking all the boxes out of the attic that had me decide to do a tiny, easy tree this year!! If I ever get my camera and computer reunited I will attempt to post pictures of one of our bigger trees and this year's tree. Don't hold your breath, though. One of our computers (the one I attach the camera to) is in ill health :-(. A Girl's Best Friend |

Here is our first tree together in our new home as husband and wife. Ignore the lighting fixture. The tree is in the dining room where we do not yet have dining room furniture. ![]() ![]()

And then this was taken today with the presents underneath it...ignore the scrunched up tree skirt...we have to do that because this house we are in now has floor heating....and I don't want the tree skirt to catch on fire. Thank goodness new house has normal ceiling ducts! ![]() ![]() ________________________________ |
