I recently found a thread on PS regarding Mokume-gane style rings.
The problem is I can't figure out how to mate a Mokume-gane with a Steven Kretchmer tension setting.
Is it possible? Would the process of Mokume be compatible with tension?
The setting I'm enamored with Kretchmer Swirl
This style proves difficult to pair with a wedding band, which is why I want them to have babies

Has anyone seen this done? I really appreciate the Kretchmer style and quality and I'm not willing to compromise the tension set with low quality or sketchy work.

I've seen damascus steel tension set rings...

I'd contact Bruce Boone at Boone Rings, he works with both and has things like this one: http://www.boonerings.com/htmpages/classicflatwithmokume.htm

He also does custom, so worth it to ask.

It isn't a tension setting, but it's similar to the Kretchmer. Close?

Krikawa Mokume Engagement Rings (It's toward the bottom of this page.)

Another similar style. They would custom make the setting around your stone. http://cgi.ebay.com/22k-Full-Bezel-Custom-Designed-Mokume-Gane-Mounting_W0QQitemZ200039366715QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0

Mokume Gane and tension mounts are not compatible to each other. Steve Kretchmer developed the tension mount using a proprietary alloy, mokume has bi- or tri-metal, can never develop the kind of tension to securely hold the stone.

I suspected that tension wasn't compatible with Mokume, but I had my day to dream

Thanks for the other suggestions. I will probably get a separate Mokume wedding band that I can wear when the ERing isn't on.
