I just purchased a 1.18 ct., I color, VS1, Excellent cut (GIA Cert) stone from Whiteflash. My gf wants an antique ring and I came across antiqueengagementrings.com. This is going to be a surprise so I cannot really ask her opinion so I wanted to get some people on this message board. This is the setting I am thinking about. http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=22 It's the Replica Edwardian Engagement Ring Mounting - Stock Number:L1191pl (midway down the page) I wanted something with an antique look but with a modern touch. There are a lot of folks on PS that like/have vintage settings. I'm sure they can point you too some more websites. She's had some fairly mixed reviews, so do a search on her first before you decide. Antiqueengagementrings are nice, but I believe some have said that their finishing is a bit rough. The people were really nice, and it's very pretty, but the craftsmanship is only medium quality. Not bad, but not top-notch either. The settings are cast rather than hand-detailed, and they're quite light (or, if you prefer, delicate). If I were given it as an engagement ring, I might be a little disappointed.
