Hahaha Liz. Yep, you and then SDL were the first to know. Aren't you proud of me for keeping my trap shut? Dang that was so. hard. to. do.... My daughter and her DH were calling me incessantly one night while I was out to dinner at a new wine bar by myself. Earlier after my appetizers, a table with two women my age invited me to join them. One of them patted the empty chair next to her and said "Come join us...tell us your story". So I joined them and we shared our stories. I finally answered my phone and my daughter said she was at my house. I told her where I was and she asked if I was on a date. I said "no, but I have some new friends I am having a drink with..." DD: Well we have something for you. Me: Oh. Really? Well, I'm not there. Can you leave it on the porch or something? DD: Um, not really. Well, we have to go to DH's Dad's house for dinner and so we will just drive by the restaurant. Me: Okay. I'll be here. Five minutes later the phone rings again: Me: Yesss??? DD: Mom, can you come outside? Me: Huh? No. Just come on in. My new friends have heard all about you. You can meet them. DD: Okay. So in comes my DD and SIL with a gift bag and I introduce them to my friends and then she looks a little puzzled and it goes like this: DD: :::reaching for the gift bag to hand to me::: Well this is sort of personal. Me: :::puzzled look:::: Personal? What is it...a ________? :::::Laughter and rolled eyes:::::::: So I leaned back cautiously to see what is in the bag and I can see it is a book and I lift it up from the bag and all I see is the title: "The Granny Diaries" And then I scream wildly, jump up and start hugging her and all I remember is saying OMG, OMG,OMG REALLY??? Then tears and more hugs. Then I hug my SIL and say loudly..."OMG, Thank YOU!! OMG, they swim!! Oh, thank you!!" Then I realize that everyone else that was eating in the place is looking at us like we are crazy and we have disrupted everyone's meal. So I blurt out loud "I'M GOING TO BE A GRAMDMA!!" SIL: I told you she was going to make a scene. Then I hugged her again and felt something in her sweatshirt pocket and she pulled out the pee stick. Then after we all dried our tears she says "Mom, you can't tell ANYONE!"

Thank you Everyone!!!! We had our first Ultra-Sound (I love that word…sounds like a super hero test…hmm does he have ULTRA-SOUND?) We are both completely happy to say that our Baby is healthy and doing fine. We got to see the little heartbeat…it was going at 174 beats a minute! The baby is the size of a kidney bean or raspberry (depending on whether you are a fruit or vegetable person…hahahaa…) The due date is set at 9/25/09. We told them we will not be finding out what the sex of the child is until it is born….we love surprises. All name recommendations will be greatly appreciated and scrutinized. So far I can’t get Chrystal to go for VOLTRON or CONAN if it is a Boy…..and Girl names likes SHE-RA and GEM aren’t looking good coming from me either. J Love,
