I received my “Spring Selections” Tiffany catalog on Saturday and upon looking at it, I noticed the sales tax information for which states don’t apply tax. I showed S and he became VERY concerned about it as he wants to possibly avoid tax (when purchasing something very blingy Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Exciting news! I really hope he is saving for your dream ring. Even if not yet at leat it is on his mind about what he needs to do. I hate secrets, so that would drive me nuts not knowing if there is a savings. Try not to get your hopes up too high and just remember it is on his mind! :)

Oh, gosh, I really hope he is saving for your ring! That is so exciting that it's on his mind. It's really cute that he was all concerned about the shipping out-of-state business.

Thank you ladies! I'm very excited about it. Unfortunately, we just found out yesterday that S will have his pay cut by 10%. He SO BADLY needs to get an interview for the jobs he has applied for and someone needs to just hire him already!!!!!!!!!! Stupid economy. I don't see this effecting the 'fund' too much though as he is looking for a new job anyway. But still, times are so rough, you know?Definitely- Exactly. Thank you! tlh- lol ![]() xoxo- I find your post the most interesting. You think he has it planned out? Wouldn't that be awesome... lol misskitty- Yes, exactly! Progress!!! Brown- I know!!! kittybean- I hope so too. For what it's worth though, at least he is thinking about it more.. Sailor- Thank you ![]() Still_Waiting- I guess I'll never know! ha! caribqueen- Yes, I agree! nail_polish- Thank you! He has this whole plan for it, which I find adorable. Blackpaw- I haven't seen you in a while! Thank you.... Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Dreaming of the Osaka sun... ![]() |

Sorry to threadjack dreamgirl, but i have a question for you.... So awhile ago i tried on a ring in tiffs that i really loved, its an emerald cut centre diamond with an emerald cut sapphire on each side. And years ago i also saw this design in one of their magazine ads. So why when i emailed tiffany diamond specialists or whatever they are, have two of them both told me they dont carry a ring like that. When they do because i tried it on in October?!!! its really strange, do you think those people only deal with their main designs, like the tiff setting and the lucida etc? I tried on one where the centre stone was 1.5cts and so i wanted to know what the price range was for a smaller centre diamond you know

Thanks LabRat! Blackpaw- You can threadjack any of my threads any day to talk about Tiffany's!!! I wont mind! I should invite you over to discuss Tiffany rings with me and our newest LIW Tiffany fan- LabRat. link here. My only guess is that they are no longer making that setting? It isn't on the website either. Maybe it was one of those rare settings that they don't have too many of? They have an emerald cut setting with emerald cut side stones though...hmmm. This is interesting!

There are 2 that SO and I are in love with. The classic Tiffany Setting and the stunningly beautiful Round Brilliant with Tapered Baguettes.....I think he likes the Tapered Baguettes setting better. But...I've told him though that it cost more than the Tiffany Setting. I'd love either really!!!!! I guess it all would come down to which one HE picks. I used to always think I needed to tell him what I wanted but there is something romantic in letting him pick what he wants to give to me. (So long as its one of my favorites too ) I LOVE both of these settings. I'm not sure which one I love better than the other! One day I love this out of the 2, one day I love that out of the 2!! lolWell, at least I have *somewhat* of an open mind and am not dead-set on one over the other..... ![]()

Would you consider Signed Pieces? Seriously, they have them in like-new condition. Here is one available now: http://www.signedpieces.com/item.cfm?item_id=9881

Both settings are so lovely, but you know I am partial to the RB solitaire in Tiffany setting, Dreamgirl! I hope you get it so we can be e-ring twins!

Date: 2/12/2009 9:14:25 PM Thanks for the link! I've thought about signed pieces in the past but my only concern is where the ring last was. I'm sort of....I'm the type who reads into everything. Whereas if I had a previously owned ring, it could bring bad luck if it came from a broken engagement/marriage. There is something comforting about knowing you are the only one who has owned it and it has only represented 'our' love only. You know what I mean? I know it's silly, but that's how my mind works. It would always be in the back of my head I guess...

Date: 2/12/2009 9:17:35 PM True. There is something amazing in having THE first engagement ring ever created. But on the other hand, the tapered baguettes setting is more rare and unique too. Hmmm.....maybe I should have both?! haha yeah right! Author: LabRatPhD Both settings are so lovely, but you know I am partial to the RB solitaire in Tiffany setting, Dreamgirl!
