I'd love to hear some feedback on this round diamond that I am considering. Specs and photos (including idealscope image) below. My two main concerns: 1) It's not listed as a hearts and arrows stone, so I worry it won't be as nice as some other GOG H&A stones or Whiteflash ACA stones. The price is great, but I don't have a 'hearts' image to compare. 2) It has a couple of inclusions on the table, though I am told it is eye-clean. size: 0.9 cts (6.24*6.27*3.83) HCA score: 1.3 (within Tolkowsky Ideal Cut range) cut: AGS0 color: F clarity: SI2 depth: 61.3% table: 54.5% crown: 34.5 deg pavilion: 40.8 deg girdle: thin to medium

It looks good! If you want a branded h&a diamond then the ACA or GOG diamonds are the ones to consider, otherwise the diamond you linked could be an excellent choice as you have checked it is eyeclean to your standards. The main thing is the proportion combo, that is excellent with this diamond and it should be a beautiful gem.

Regarding the H&A designation: If a diamond fits the H&A criteria, will it typically perform better (i.e., look prettier on my gf's hand) than another diamond that's not H&A (assuming they have similar measurements, colors, HCA scores, etc?)

Not necessarily. You can have diamonds which show a strong arrow pattern and hearts but may not be the best performers or be well cut. Conversely you can have a top cut diamond not show hearts and arrows which can be stunning. The proportions are the bricks and mortar and foundation of a diamond, they are what direct the light return through the diamond ( particularly the crown and pavilion angles), so it is very important to concentrate on these. What you have there looks to be a diamond with excellent proportions which will work extremely well together ( solid bricks and mortar/ foundation) and should result in a beautiful diamond which will be among the small percentage of excellently cut diamonds. You also have a strong and distinct arrow pattern so from the lay persons point of view, it might be difficult to tell this diamond from a branded h&a anyway. Like I said, if you want the brand ' pedigree' then thats fine, but if you want a top cut rock that has distinct arrows with sparkle that should rival these cuts, then this one should fit the bill nicely! ![]() Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. Thanks so much for the input. So I shouldn't be worried about the inclusion on/under the table? They say it is eye clean from 8-10 inches, which is all I could hope for with an SI2.

I think it's a lovely stone and if you are happy with the price and specs go for it. You will pay a premium for the ACAs and GOG H&As. But once set this could look just as nice.
