I am sooooo excited!!!! We FINALLY are progressing on the wedding front!!!! Date: September 5, 2009 Location: Iberostar Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Travel Agency/Wedding Coordination: LUXE Weddings Photographer/DJ/Graphic Designer: JET Events I was getting a little anxious because we hadn't really seen much movement from our vendors and I was getting worried that we were going to cut it way too close for STDs to go out and get enough people on board. But we just gave our initial deposit to guarantee airfare and hotel and got confirmation of our wedding date.  For the photographer, DJ and graphic designer, we asked one of our friend's who took her engagement photos because they were really nice and straightforward. She gave us the name of her photographer and told us that it was actually a co-worker of hers that is trying to get her business off the ground. Our engagement session will be $75 and we get all the original photos on a CD, plus they will touch-up up to 10 different images. While we were talking, she mentioned that their group is just getting started and would love to get one wedding where they could incorporate all the elements of their company. I told her we were having a destination wedding and that all the pricing we had found was very much out of our price range. They put together a package that includes all their services (photography, DJ, and Invitations) for $2k! And it includes a TTD session the day after the wedding! And finally...I bought my wedding dress! I found it on eBay for $150...and it was delivered this morning and it's gorgeous! Brand New, with tags still attached. I will have to pay for hemming the dress, but other than that...it's perfect!  I am soooo happy! ~~~~~I know I'm yours, without fear or hesitation and without a doubt in my soul, I know I belong to you, I always have, I always will~~~~~ |

Wow!! Check, check, check - haha that's the sound of you and your checklist!!! That's awesome everything is falling together so well, and so easily, AND at such great prices!!! My date may be around the same time as yours. So are you planning on sending out STD's ASAP?  |

Congrats! That's great news!! DR is so beautiful in September too. You're really going to enjoy it. Are you planning on staying there as your honeymoon as well?

Not only do you have date and location, but it looks like dress, photog, dj, and everything else! Seems like everything is falling together perfectly and sounds wonderful! Congrats on everything thus far!

Haha! You guys are so funny! Iluvthemstrawberries, YES! I need to send out my STD's (hee-hee, I always giggle when I write that I am sending out STDs!) by early next week. FI has a business contact that is working on our STD card and we should have the file by the end of the week and the printer said they could turn them around in a couple of days. So hopefully they will be in the mail by this time next week.  Fieryred, No, we are going for a long weekend for the wedding (Thursday-Monday) and then coming back. We are taking the kids with us for the wedding. For the honeymoon, we are taking time off later in the year (maybe DEC or JAN) to go away just the two of us. We are looking at the South Pacific, but we won't know for sure until later in the year. His company just had layoffs and we feel overindulgent as it is with our DW. Clairitek, I don't have pictures of me in it yet, but here is a picture that looks very similar. Mine has thicker straps, the label is Enzio, but honestly I've never heard of it. I just wanted something extremely simple that I could then embellish on my own (either to add a satin ribbon, or rhinestones, or pearls, etc.). I wanted something that was light but definitely bridal for the beach. This dress has a satin bodice and an organza skirt. I am short enough that I might get rid of the satin ribbon on the bottom. That was my initial thought when I saw it online, but now that I have it, I think it looks very pretty. Dunno... Oh my goodness, you have good reason to be excited. That's such great news on all fronts. Marrying the person you love, check. Having next to everything set, check. $150 for a bnwt gorgeous gown? How could it get better? Pictures required.

Awesome news! Seems like things are definitely rolling! Punta Cana is beautiful - we were just there last week and saw two weddings on the beach. They were both out of this world! You'll love it!
