Just based on specs and the jamesallen photo. Any of these have potential? http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1187305&type=2 http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1184385&type=2 http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1187819&type=2 http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1088485&type=2 http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1031929&type=2 I'm thinking I might drop to the H, I, J colors to get a little more value and a larger stone. Or am I wrong to be going that low in color? Thanks. |

In general H or above unless your ok with some tint in some lighting. It bugs some people and others are fine with it. You have to be careful with si clarity in asschers they are very rarely eyeclean. vs2 is safer when buying online. I don't have time right now to go thru them all you posted but will later. ........... Karl has joined the diamond trade and is now posting as Karl_K |

ditto strm. I'm super color sensitive though. My current Asscher is a D but I'll be going with a larger G VS2 when ready to buy again. You can really see a lower color like a J in fancy cut stones such as asschers and emeralds.

Hey Storm, I got the IS image for this one: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Premium-Cut-Asscher-Diamond-1184385.asp It has already been sold along with the other one, I guess you have magical powers when commenting on stones. But anyway, can you still review the IS image for future reference and let me know how you would analyze it? Thanks much. Crown height is 16.4%

Originally my diamond budget was 3700-4300. But now I am thinking I might have to up that to 5000 if I see something that is WOW. Above 1 ct is my only spec. Going with this setting: http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-jewelry/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_294-2040.asp So I wanted to keep it easy and go with a JA diamond, so I have not though about going to GOG yet. Their diamonds seem to be a little more expensive (not sure if this is tru) But the fact he can hand pick something is nice.

yummy love that setting. Yea GOG is sometimes a little more but the service is worth it. If your not in a hurry you can likely find something at JA. ........... Karl has joined the diamond trade and is now posting as Karl_K |
