Hello, my BF has hinted that I will get my e-ring in a couple months, and I found a wedding band that goes well with the ring (we picked out the setting together so I know what it looks like). I was even able to try on the w-band with the ring and they fit and look perfectly together. Also, the price seemed very affordable for us (under $700). My BF is hesitant to purchase from online and for something like that I am too. I don't think I'll enjoy sending back the item in the mail if it's not right or doesn't look good. Plus, I feel like it's just an inconvenience and a lot of work. So, can you peeps suggest any stand-alone jewelry stores that I could check with in person? If you're adamant that the online is the way to go, please advise what information is helpful for me to know about the wedding band I liked to try to find a replica? This is what I know so far: platinum diamond band with 19 round pave-set diamonds at approximate .10 carats, and I think 2.5 mm. Is that enough information if I have to try to find it online? (I hope my questions make sense.)

Hi carb,

I'll admit, I'm a bit confused. If you were able to try on a band that you liked and it was affordable, why aren't you just getting that band?

It's early, maybe I'm missing something.

Where are you located? It is an important piece of information missing if you want us to suggest a store front to look at, right?

Welcome!

Ditto Ellen, if you liked that band then why not consider buying it?

Didn't mean to confuse. We're not yet at the point ready to buy it yet. If when we go back (in the Summer) and it's there, we'll be solid and just get it then. But I'm looking for alternatives in case it's no longer available, we can try another store. We're in Arizona - probably Phoenix area would be best.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in AZ too, what store did you find it at? I know some move inventory faster than others, and it might be a band that would be easy for them to get again, or it could just be a one-off type thing.

If it's perfect, and you have the funds, I'd say buy it now and just hold onto it, it might be harder than you think to find a match again!

I'm also very confused... if you're not ready to buy yet anyway, why bother finding alternate stores now? A lot can change between now and the summer.

Also, the specs you gave for your wedding band don't make much sense... 19 stones, .10 cts. each or total? .10cts each will be wider than 2.5mm, and .10ctw (total weight) will be impossibly small. Did you mean 1.0carats total weight??

Ok, so you saw it in a shop out of town. I see now.

Do you know if it's by a specific line? If so, you could go to their main site online and see if nearby jewelers carry it. Or, I would suggest just hitting up all the jewers in your area, you never know what you might find!

Ditto. You'll hear stories again and again about people who found the perfect one-off ring, hesitated, and regretted it forever.

Thritto!  If you love that particular one and the price is right then get it!

It's .10 carats total (goes perfectly w/the pave diamonds on my e-ring). I appreciate the responses. (Neither BF or I are from Arizona and all we seem to see are chain stores). But we've been talking and we probably won't wait till Summer, and instead try to snatch it up this Spring. Thanks again.

I haven't seen too many good stores around here either. I do have an independent jeweler I go to for repairs and such, but he is way overpriced for jewlery items!
