Hello Everyone,

My first posting!

This ruby & diamond cross is a gift for my wife. I worked on the design with the help of an overseas jeweler and finaly came with this deisgn.

http://www.israel-diamonds.com/Product/Pendant/sg/33633.aspx

Please tell what should I be looking for and what is your opinion design and price wise. I picked the stones from their calibrated gems section.

Thank you

I like the design very much but the price does seem somewhat high for the carat weight of the gemstones. Have you checked prices with any other vendors?

Thank you Kismet.
I was not able to find the calibrated gems anywhere else yet.

Currently I have :
 5 Diamonds .17ct each total .85ct E/F VVS Priced at $169 ea X 5 = $845 USD
+ 6 Rubies .17 each total 1.02 Burmese high quality Priced at $ 61.50 ea X 6 = $369 USD

Total gems cost is $ 1,214. I think that they are charging me for the design and 3g of gold $ 1,431!

For similar cross & gems quality, I was quoted by other 'online retailers'  over $4,800 to 5,250 USD!

The only crosses I was able to find:

http://www.mulloysjewelry.com/18kw-041ct-ruby-048-diamond-cross-pendant/208.html

Tried most of the gems trades posted in the forum and still looking!

It looks very pretty! I think the price is okay, too.  Here is a cross with all princess diamonds at 1.10 carats and it is $1950. So I'd think your price is fair.

HI:

Your cross looks very nice in the picture.  Here is a "branded" piece; less carat weight and costlier...(pretty tho!)

Thx.
Facets do have the highest cut & color diamond crosses so far & looks nice.
On my cross, I tried to reduce the metal/prongs appearance. I only want the diamonds and rubies appearance if possible.

Thx Sharon.
Pearlman crosses are nice, very nice  but as you stated, very costly given the carat weight!
