I have been engagement ring shopping with my boyfriend and I have decided that I want a cushion cut center stone, however after seeing a few it is still hard to tell which ones are the best b/c they all look different. Of course, the jewelers keep telling us that each one we look at is the best and it would be hard to find better. Some even have said that an I color looks like a G and has nicer color than an H we looked at. I'm totally overwhelmed and was wondering if there are independent certified diamontologists which you can hire to come with you and view the diamonds? Or, are there other options to ensure that novices like my boyfriend and I are getting a good deal price wise and a good quality stone? Please help! This is becoming more stressful than fun

Just call Mark T. at Engagement Rings Direct. He has a fabulous eye for cushions and his prices are really great. I have not once seen a dud stone come from him and he has literally thousands of customers from this website. Just search for ERD or Mark T. and cushion or something like that here and you will see what I mean. You can hire an **independent** appraiser after your purchase to confirm that it's a great stone and that you got a good price too. But not all appraisers are equal, if you tell us where you are we can recommend some to you.

Oh no now we have two diamond seekers! :) Sorry it is getting stressful - neat's advice to call mark at engagement rings direct is sage - he is the go to 'cushion guy' around here - you can call him and let him know what you want. He can look for you (he is in NY) and can let you know what he finds that he actually recommends. You can then get it shipped to you and you can take it to look at with an appraiser. there is a good one in SD and i can't remember the name right now - I think first name starts with a T? ETA: It was Thom Underwood I was thinking of http://www.sandiegogemlab.com/ Cushions come in many different flavors. Just hunker down with PS for a few days reading up on thread searches for cushions and looking at pics so that you can see the styles that you like so that you can communicate with Mark and know what you want.

LOL!!! Thritto Neats advice also. ![]() Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be... - Stephanie M Thorn |
