April20 Ideal Rock Total Posts: 1,072 Last Post: 11/23/2009 Member Since: 8/1/2008	We're moving for the second time in five months today. It's the third time I've moved in the last 2.5 years and the 9th time I've moved in the last ten years. This go round we sold our house back in the summer and moved into temporary housing until we found something. We found something in Novemenber, renovated and now we're ready to move in. Only I'm not ready. And I've ALWAYS been ready before. I've been working all week and didn't start packing until last night. Granted, I didn't unpack about half our stuff when we moved into the temporary housing, so I don't have a whole house to pack. We're supposed to pick up the truck in a hour and people will be here to help in two. This is not looking like my brightest, shining day. I am really and truly hoping that this is our last move for at least a few years. It feels like just about the time i get settled, it's time to move again. I HATE moving, not that anyone would know it. Anyone else been completely unprepared to move the morning of?

I remember when my family moved from Ohio it was just my mom and I (my dad and brother already moved) and we were packing boxes WHILE the movers were loading! I think everyone underestimates how little fits in a box and how much time packing really takes. Good luck with your move. Hopefully you will stay there for awhile!

I think that is why you just are illprepared. Don't worry. It will work out just fine. Besides, your new place sounds grand! You'll change your tune when you start to settle in and get cozy! AmberGretchen Ideal Rock Total Posts: 7,046 Last Post: 11/11/2009 Member Since: 1/6/2005	Oh April - I feel your pain - we've moved 5 times so far in my 4.5 years in grad school and we've got another (cross-state) move coming up this summer I think the best words of wisdom are to try to let go of worrying about what might not get done and just focus on what you need to do in the here and now, remembering that if stuff doesn't get done today its likely not catastrophic - there are almost always workarounds. ((HUGS))

It got to the stage that I could pack in my sleep and almost had 5 nervous breakdowns.... Hugs of support from me.
