OK, after months of lurking, posting, and getting hints from the girlfriend, I have settled on an actual ring type, its a good feeling of relief to have half the equation solved. (going with asscher center 1ct)

I want to spend a ceiling of $2200 on a setting only. She loved the following based on a picture line up:

http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-jewelry/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_294-2040.asp

I personally am a big fan of the looks over these:

http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=348&mode=search

I can only assume the Leon settings are well above $3000. Does anyone know any other split shanks besides the Danhov one that is around the same price range and look as these? Thanks.

Hi bbfifas,

Here's another one to look at:

But why don't you just get the one she loved since it's in your budget?

Here's another.

I second the previous poster's question... Why not go with the one she likes if it's within your means?

I was also going to suggest knoxjewelers.  They have quite a few split shanks that are well-made and very affordable!
