I have noticed that some prices are down a little on the newest stones at WhiteFlash, but I am not sure how widespread that is.

In my opinion there was a spike in pricing about 6-8 months ago which was slightly unrealistic.
If we compare to that point in time, I believe you will see slightly softer prices.

BUT- since the spike was really short lived I don;t believe you;ll see any dramatic effect.....

I can affirm that they are down at the .75 level, too.  A year ago I bought ACA studs at .75 H VS2 for $3000 each.  Today on the WF site there is a .74 H VS2 at $2660 and a .76 G VS2 at $3014.  I'd trade up if they had a match to that G VS2 stone!

Rap softened prices once, not too long ago.  Whether a reaction to the recession or an adjustment because of the spike David referenced is hard to say.  Demand continues to exceed supply in the world market, though you wouldn't know it from the posted losses and store closings reported stateside.

For anyone interested in revisiting that controversial spike here is a thread where we talked about the upstream and downstream of it all (price hike info begins 4 posts down). http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=86904

There were some pretty strong reactions at that JCK.
