I have a great opportunity to purchase a 0.56ct Eightstar OR I could upgrade my current 0.58 ACA diamond to a 0.71-0.75ct ACA. My question is this: what would you do? I'm seriously paralyzed here and would greatly appreciate any input my fellow PSers could provide. Thank you! Mariposa

I would DEFINITELY go for the bigger ACA. That's a no brainer (for me anyway)!

Mariposa I would choose the larger ACA, but it depends on your preferences. Yes, I'd go for the larger ACA!! But if you did get the Eightstar would that replace your current ACA or would it be an additional stone for you to play with?

Here is an odd suggestion... Buy the new .56 eightstar and mount in a 3 stone setting with the .58 ACA and a CZ/Coloured stone and hey presto 3 stone!

Wow!! It seems to be unanimous. The only problem is that Larry at VC would have to do a lot of reworking with my ring to replace the larger head. That scares me a little - I don't want anything to happen to my baby. The Eightstar would be a replacement. I'd have to do a buyback with Whiteflash. Thank you for all the responses! Mariposa

Have you seen the Good Old Gold video of ideal-cut rounds vs. eightstars? I'd look that up before making the decision - you can really decide what appeals to YOU visually that way.
