Hi, I've a question regarding girdle thickness, in this case, thinness

Is the girdle in the extremely thin range here? http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4775/

I read some PS posts, I thought this girdle is extremely thin, but some posts seem to suggest very thin/ thin in this case. Are there specific numbers to make it easier to evaluate?

Thanks in advance

Hi Ashleigh,

It notes the girdle is thin to medium as far as I can see which falls within highly desirable range, so no worries there.  Generally you need to check girdles which say very thin, extremely thin as part of the description - not all will be a problem or durabilty issue as the v thin/ ex thin might only be in the microns in a non vulnerable area of the girdle, in these cases always ask a trusted expert to inspect and advise.

Lovely diamond you have chosen BTW, you like the warmer colours?  I do too!

Thanks for the reply, Lorelei. Ya, another warm color fan here I think I might have missed it but on which report/cert/paper does the thin-medium girdle appear? I found no mention on AGS and helium. i'm really new to all these.

No worries,

Click on the link, below the diamond you will see GIA report on the lower left, click on that and scroll to the diamond diagram on the right.  Look to the left of the diagram and you will see it says thin - medium by the girdle area of the diagram.

Haha, all I saw were the words above the plot, and the plot. Didn't even realise there's another pic next to the plot! Thanks
