Hi everyone! First off I would like to say that this forum has been very helpful alfready. I have been lurking around the site and forums here trying to educate myself because I had no knowledge about diamonds before. Well I am currently deployed right now so I cannot go to a store and pick out a ring. I started research online so I could buy one now and have it when I got back. My girlfriend and I decided we are going to get married when I get back home in a couple months. She has told me she just wants us to get matching wedding bands and didn't need an engagement ring. I managed to pry some what she likes in a ring out of her though. A solitare princess cut on yellow gold and I figured out she wears a size 6. I am looking to get anywhere from a .40 to a .50 karat diamond. I'd like the color to be an H or better. The clarity a SI1 or better. I want to spend under $550 or less on the diamond. I know this is a very small budget compared to most, but she doesn't like big flashy things. We also both think you don't need to spend a ton of money on a ring and would be better spent somewhere else. It needs to be a place that will set the diamond for me. I would really like it to be from James Allen because I have heard very good things about them and they have actual pictures of the diamond. I have a few picked out, which one would be the best bet? http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Princess-Diamond-1021703.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 http://www.idjewelryonline.com/diamond_details1.php?id=18807513&shape=&pricefrom=1&priceto=500000&ca http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Princess-Diamond-947315.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Princess-Diamond-1135466.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Premium-Cut-Princess-Diamond-1021704.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 Thanks for your time! |

I also like the first one, although this one that you posted might also be promising (looks like it could be decent from the pic, but it's not the greatest pic).

I did email them asking for idealscope and high resolution pictures. They must have it on hold cause of that. I will post the pics when I get them.
