Hello All -

I just received the ring from Dover Jewelry that I posted sometime back.  I loved the setting, but was concerned with the looks of the stone.  I cannot believe how much more delicate the setting is and beautiful the stone is in real life!  Hamid was so easy to work with and even ok'd a request that I made to have a week instead of 3 days in case I wanted to return it.  The stone was listed as 5.5, approx .80 carat, G-H in color and SI2 and the pictures made the stone look dull.  I have been looking furociously for a replacement stone but I can assure you that that will not be happening.  I will leave the stone exactly where it's been for many long years.  I love, love the chunkiness of the facets in this stone and the lacyness of the setting.  I am seriously in love.:)  I still haven't had looked at it through a loop but will do over the weekend.  I am going to have to read about how to take pictures of it -- good ones!!  Yippeeeee!

I want to wear it on my left hand, ring finger and don't want to wear anything with it (wedding ring) because I think it's distracting.  Is that in poor taste?

Yay! Glad you are pleased--it's a lovely ring. Dover has some great pieces. No, it is not in poor taste to wear it without a band. Wear it however you like.

the beauty of jewelry is that you can wear it to suit you. I think it will be beautiful with or without a band.

I love it...it is such a pretty stone and setting that you don't need to wear a band with it if that is what you chose...either way, it is beautiful!

Very pretty ring. Looks like a stand-alone piece to me. No need for a band and no, it is not in poor taste to wear it alone.

Absolutely beautiful ring. That setting is fabulous, I love antique settings. I wouldn't wear a wedding band with it either.

I wear an ornate antique filigree ring too and I don't wear a wedding band with it. (Though sometimes it lives on my right hand, too; but whether it's on right or left, it doesn't go well with bands)

I didn't think anyone would notice, but I do sometimes have people ask if I'm engaged. Doesn't bother me though.
