I remember reading about the story awhile back in people magazine. This is where 13 women chip in $1K each and split wearing a 15tcw diamond necklace that retails for $37K. They each get it a month or so and develop rules and guidelines as time goes on. The book is a chapter on each woman and how they share it, they call it a "quirky social experiment that became something richer and deeper as the women transformed a symbol of exclusivity into a symbol of inclusiveness". It's a fast read and interesting so far Would you do something like this ? I'm not so sure.... The Necklace by Cheryl Jarvis

AmberGretchen Ideal Rock Total Posts: 7,046 Last Post: 11/11/2009 Member Since: 1/6/2005	I don't think I'd do something like that - I tend to be a generous person, but I'm also pretty strict about having personal space around my things when I feel I need it and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with an arrangement like that. Sounds like an interesting book though!

If I were to spend $1K, I'd want something to keep. However, what the necklace did for each woman is interesting. I want to check out that book.
