WestAussie Rough Rock Total Posts: 8 Last Post: 12/23/2008 Member Since: 12/23/2008	Here is a picture of my engagement ring which I recieved 4 days ago. I love it! And mor eimportantly I love the man who gave it to me.. Its a 2.16ct oval ceylon sapphire. No heat treatment. Surrounded by 0.1 ct diamonds It's white gold and is designed to have a plain wedding band sit flush against it It is size H 3/4 which I think is about 4.5

Its such a nice bright blue and it truly seems to glow from within.. I lurked on these forums getting lots of ideas about settings and halos and all the other stuff.. learnt so much and just wanted to share my photos with all the people who were unknowingly helping me make all these little decisions.. xoxoxoxo

WestAussie Rough Rock Total Posts: 8 Last Post: 12/23/2008 Member Since: 12/23/2008	thanks everybody... We got the stone through a jeweller in my home town of Perth Western Australia.. Am I allowed to say their name? I emailed a few different places asking if they stocked unheated sapphires and most said NO but this one said yes and asked what size/shape i was interested in and I told them 1-2 cts, round, oval or cushion and so they got some in for us to look at the following week... We went down and there were five different ones to look at. But that stone caught my attention straight away... It was a bit bigger than I originally intended but it was the exact shade of blue that I wanted.. and my boyfriend (whoops fiance) agreed and wanted me to have that one too. I realize we probably paid more as we werent buying direct through the gem dealer but I compared the /carat price with some similar looking stones from NSC and it still seemed reasonable.. Then I just ummed and ahhed for a few weeks about what setting to get and the rest is history.. I purposely had it designed so I could fit a really simple straight wedding band against it as there will be times when I will just want to leave the bling at home and just wear the wedding band on its own. (there is also one in there of the stone before it was set taken with my dodgy mobile phone) I will probably take a few more hand shots after I have a manicure.. although thanks for the compliments about my hands.. its the closeups which are the most traumatic!
