I don't think the sellers themselves are clueless about these diamonds and their actual grades, but they do think the general public is pretty clueless about diamond grading in general.  It's an insult to the consumer actually.  Thanks for posting this.

I really HATE to see any seller classify any I clarity diamond as eyeclean.   I also love the creative photos used to sell some I2 and I3 clarity diamonds.  They can actually look good in photos.  Also that princess diamond...... I hope it is not sold in the setting it is photographed in.  Those corners are going to smash in to something someday. lol   Have you noticed that  some visible milky white looking  diamonds generate a lot of bids?  Shill bidding from my observations.

That one is so ugly they don't even bother putting any prongs on the sides.  As if to say, who cares if you lose the diamond.  It looks more like a dirty pebble than a diamond.

Yikes...
I'm so glad that I have educated myself... At least enough to know the difference between "eye clean" and not, and enough to wade through all of the bull spit!!

This one IS eyeclean!  Eyeclean of any sparkle that may detract from the muddy look.

Yes it is a diamond, an INDUSTRIAL grade diamond.....

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. Makes me want to create a listing with comparisons of really bad diamonds in really bad settings like that one, and tell people to come to this website for some real education!!!!

Hi Lisa,
I think that's a temporary stone holder, and not an actual setting.  I have a few of these, and they're nice for temporarily displaying your stone on a finger.

There's still some good diamond sellers on ebay, you just have to be very careful who you buy from.  I actually think ebay has some of the best prices on diamonds, especially antique and "used" diamonds.  People can get some great deals on diamonds that were once owned by someone else.  It's like buying a used car, but the diamond, unlike the used car, stays in better shape!!

I once saw someone pay several thousand dollars on ebay for a 5 carat diamond, but it was one of those "galaxy" diamonds with all the carbon spots.  I guess I don't blame some of these ebay sellers for fishing for people that do not know any better.  It's rather sad.
