Hi folks

Been a while since I posted!

So in the last few days I've noticed that my hair gets caught in the prong(s) of my engagement ring, and just now I've noticed that I can rotate the center stone a little bit both ways. Plus, when I hold it up to my ear, it rattles - I know from my appraiser that that's a bad thing!

I can't think of any knocks or falls that might have damaged it, and have only been wearing it for 4/5 months.

What should I do - contact Leon to get him to check it out? Does anyone know if he does checks like that - I'm hoping yes, as it's still within a year.

Here's a link to my ring: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=91422

Thank you all for your suggestions!

I would definitely contact Leon since it is his piece. He should be able to recommend a solution, most likely just a tightening of the prongs.

I know local jewelers do this as well but depending on the workmanship you may not want to go that route.

I think that should be covered under his warrantee. If you do take it someplace else it might void your warrantee...

Ditto
I also wouldn't wear it until the prongs are tightened just in case.

Ditto on contacting Leon - you'll want to get this fixed before it gets worse, because it can loosen further and the stone could fall out

Thanks guys!

So I called Leon today, and he said to drop in, that they'd want to take care of it straight away for me. So drop in I did, and he had his setters fix it on the spot. :)

While I was waiting, I sat with Leon in his office, and he brought out some fab bands for me to try on - I'm thinking about what sort of wedding ring to get. I think I've settled on a two-row "Marina" band - like this one here, but with two rows, not three. http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=316 He had two single bands that I tried on together with my ring, in the style of that Marina band - and boy did they look nice together! So much sparkle, I was tempted to try and leg it out of his office with them on, haha!

Anyway, Leon couldn't have been more charming or helpful - so thanks Leon! (not that he reads this!)

Wonderful, I'm so glad you got it fixed up and leon was so awesome!  What a fun experience it must be to "drop" in and try on some bands!!!
