I think its great they are donating to individuals but I wish they'd show a little more about how they are surviving for that week.  Yesterday the couple had $110 for the week but they didn't really go into how they spent that money.

Anyway, Just wondering what your thoughts are on the show.

Hi,
I watched last nite myself and felt that as good an idea as this was, the show felt contrived.  I mean,  one of the poorest sections in los Angles, Watts, and a neighbor drops in the second day with a potted plant to wish them a welcome into the neighborhhod.  Oh yea, a person so poor as to live in Watts is spending money on a plant for a new neighbor. It wasn't believable to me.
I like the idea, but they have to improve delivery.  The wife also felt fake.  It needed more authenticity.

                                                                           Thanks,
                                                                               Annette

I agree with Annette. My DH and I watched the show and thought it had to be scripted. I doubt a neighbor would drop by like that and take them for a walk around the neighborhood. Also she just happens to have lived there for 49 years and knows everyone in the neighborhood. Not very believable.

I also watched it last night and had mixed feelings.  I think the idea of the show is great, but the way it was portrayed was so cheesy.  The wife acted like she was too good to be in the house and in the neighborhood.  She was annoying when she kept aksing for chips at the market when they were on a tight budget.  I also found it funny how at the beginning of the show, the couple was talking about how they both didn't have money growing up and even that they had a small apartment when they first lived together.  She even said she was a jeans and tennies girl.  I understand that money can change someone, but they shouldn't forget where they come from either.  At the end of the show, it looked like the wife was ready to get back to her swanky house, but I really think the husband was a changed person for having done the show.
