Haha, the company I work for has a big office in Houston, and we got a bunch of messages from people there. Apparently they were all glued to the windows.

I lived in Michigan to long and had fun driving in it. I'm terrified to go outside because I don't think anyone knows how to drive in it!  And snow is pretty...but its COLD!  I mean COLD!

It was 70 yesterday!

Haha - so funny, I just got off the phone about 20 minutes ago with someone from the company I'll be joining who is down in the Houston office, and she was so excited about the snow! She said she was working from home today (not feeling well) and all the other people in her apartment complex were all glued to the windows just like she was...

I live in San Antonio and it snowed here last night.  It was neat to see and very easy to get in the holiday mood.  I think it's funny because during the day yesterday it was in the 80's and it snowed at night.  Only in Texas!!!

I'll just c/p what I put in the other thread:

"Okay I've been so jealous of this thread, but I kept telling myself that in two weeks I'll be in Maine and have TONS of snowy pics to contribute...

BUT GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

A cold front moved in over Houston last night and as I speak it is

SNOWING!!!!!

It's not enough to stick, but for a few minutes there were big beautiful flakes! Now it's starting to fade out a little bit but it's still coming down!
This has TOTALLY made my day. I am just SO HAPPY!!!!

I don't know where my digital camera is and my cell phone pics are coming out crappy. Let's hope that DH calls me back to let me know where it is before the snow stops completely.

I'm so excited though! I love snow!!!!!!!"

I never did get pics, so I'm excited to see yours redrose!!!

redrose, how long have you lived in Houston?

I've been here since 2001 and so the hot weather just drives me INSANE now. I LOVVVVVVVEEEE it cold like this.
You're right, people can't drive for crap though. I was so annoyed coming home because I think people thought they were going to get into an accident if they went over 15mph. lol.
BUT it was so great to see everyone outside taking pictures! And I went to the grocery store and saw that everyone was just standing outside and looking so happy! It was so great.

I'm in Minnesota! So we get lots of snow. It's pretty... until... it just sticks to the ground and then there is black ice, sometimes ice-slush, and when they don't plow enough and it snows too much, my car with bottom out ON THE ROAD from the little snow wakes.

I would love to see pictures of palm trees with snow... would make for a cute xmas card this year, or next!

I've lived here for a year.  I lived in AZ (scottsdale a 1yr) and in Iowa and Michigan for a total of 14 years.  I love the warm weather.  I have being cold.  My whole body shakes and my teeth chatter and I freeze to death.

I LOVE the warm weather!  BRING IT ON!

i'll admit my hubby was happy about it though.  I took pics of us outside, and my doggie has a jacket on :)  It's super cute!

I've been thoroughly enjoying this weather!

It has only snowed here a handful of times in all of my 25 years, so this has been pretty exciting!

I'm a huuuuge fan of winter, and this has totally made my day!

That's awesome!  Houston weather is soooo crazy.  I used to live there and about 5 years ago, it snowed on Christmas Eve!

a rare sight in Houston with the snow.

I'm from DFW so I'm used to about a week or snow of snow in Jan/Feb... but I honestly can't remember the last time I saw snow in December. I LOVE cold weather, and FI went out to play in it for a bit with me!!!

Note to self: stay in Southern California, away from the snow.

It won't last long. We will warm up tomorrow and it will all melt.
But I am worried about icy roads tonight. My son is driving home
from Texas Tech in Lubbock and I have warned him about
the road conditions here. I won't go to bed until he is home safe.

It was still snowing in our area when I went to bed around midnight. Here are a few pics of the FUN, and then another of snow/icy "snirt" still not melted this morning.

It's snowing in Baton Rouge as well! We've gotten a few inches already!

Haven't seen snow like this over here since I was 4 years old!! How fun!
We've already made snowmen and had snowball fights - it's a "Be a Kid Again" day for sure!!

Meresal - I love those pics! So funny too, as DH and I sit here still debating our move to Houston vs. Dallas. I don't think we'd mind a bit of snow, but DH grew up (and we both went to college on) the East Coast and I know he isn't eager to return to that full time...

I read about that!! Congraulations on getting the offer, that's so amazing!! Well, if your looking for some snow at all and even a few months of cold weather, I would go with Dallas. Up there, we usually got it for a few days a year, between Jan and March. From what I hear, snow in Houston, is a very random occurance... and for Texas (other than the panhandle), snow in December is down right odd. But I love it.

"Hello Dollies"

Combine 1 stick melted butter and 2 cups graham cracker crumbs. Press in greased 9x13 pan. On top, layer 1 package chocolate chips, 1 package peanut butter chips, 1 12oz can lightly salted peanuts. Top with 1 small can sweetened condensed milk (I use fat free big deal!). Bake at 350 for 25 minutes (the edges should be bubbly). I recommend not cutting them until the next day because it seems to take that long for the graham cracker bottom to really harden.
