I'm Engaged!!!!!!!

KatyWI Cut Rock Total Posts: 447 Last Post: 11/23/2009 Member Since: 11/20/2008	It was Thanksgiving! I had hoped it would happen by Thanksgiving, but I didn't really think it would. See, We live in WI but my family is in CT. We're going to CT for Christmas to see them, and for the longest time I thought he would do it then after he met my father (my mother's been to visit so he knows her). But he recently told me that he thinks Christmas and New Years proposals are totally cheesy and predictable and he wouldn't do it then. So I thought it would be really nice if he proposed by Thanksgiving because we were going to his grandmother's house with like 25 other family members and if I couldn't celebrate with my family right away, I'd want to celebrate with his. Well, Thanksgiving morning he did it!!! We were bringing a lot of stuff to his grandmother's house so I had just taken a big load out to the car. I came back inside and he was kneeling down tying his shoes, which totally didn't arouse suspicion as we were about to leave. He then said "Oh wait, we forgot one more thing!" and I said "What is it babe?" and he pulled the ring out and said "Will you marry me?" I'm pretty sure the first thing I said was SERIOUSLY?!?!!?! But then I said yes like 20 times and we kissed and hugged and I cried and then I started calling everyone. My parents were thrilled, his mom cried, and his siblings freaked out (we told them before we went inside with everyone else) and then everyone inside was so happy and his grandmother hugged me for like...ever and started crying too and they all welcomed me to the family and IT WAS THE BEST TURKEY DAY EVER. :) Specs? It's a very well proportioned .8 carat K SI1 with mild fluorescence and .3 carats of flawless H-J side stones!!!!

It's funny how I was so excited (and still am!) but didn't really think about how daunting actually planning a wedding would seem!!
