I have to wait another two hours until dh can meet me at the store. He wants to see my face when I see them for the first time. This is killing me!!! So trying to pass the time... Here is what the originals looked like. Sorry, the picture is horrendous and the rings are dirty. It was a quick shot using iPhoto on my Mac and then I didn't get any decent shots before I sent the originals off to the jewellers to be changed. The original certificate shows... E-Ring... 14kt yellow/white gold EC .54ct VVS1, I, 3.82x5.55, 2.75 depth, pavilion depth percentage: acceptable, girdle thickness: medium, culet size: keel line, finish: very good (quite honestly, I don't know what half of that means  ... I just wrote it all out because I figured someone here would know and appreciate it, I was 19 when I got this set and knew nothing about diamonds other than I fell in love with this one)4 tapered cut baguettes, .10ct, GVVS2 - HVS1 W-Band... 14kt yellow/white gold A-Band... 14kt yellow/white gold 2 baguettes, .08ct (total), GVS2 My ring was melted down and all the gold and diamonds have been used in the new set to keep the sentimental part of the ring for me. They've been reset into 19kt white gold. The tapered baguettes have been flipped to form a rectangle and are channel set into the e-ring on either side of the EC diamond. Then I've added a half eternity of channel set e-w baguettes for my wedding band. I can't wait to see it and I hope it's everything I dreamed and nothing needs to be changed. It also comes with a new appraisal, so I'm interested to see just how well that matches up with my original appraisal (from 11 years ago). Pics of the reset to come tonight!!

Well... the E-ring went back for a little tweaking... the side baguettes ended up being channel set with ridges right next to the Emerald. They should be further down the ring and flush mount (no ridges).  Other than that, it was perfect and it should be back on my finger by the 19th, in time for Christmas.  In the meantime, here are pics of the w-band... 19kt white gold half eternity band. 10 channel set baguette diamonds, total weight .54ct. G, VVS - VS1, Cut: Good - Class 2a Hang on... gotta figure out how to re-size the pics.

Hand Shot (sorry these are so small... I need to drop the resolution down when taking the pics I think. Re-sizing makes them this tiny to get in under the 100kb mark)...

So being the neurotic person I am... I had doubts that the ring would come back exactly as described. So at 6am this morning, I went looking online for a ring similar to mine so I could print the picture and give it to the jewelers. I found one (attached to this post), that shows how the side baguettes in the e-ring should be flush mount and further down the band... not right up against the emerald. Then I called People's aka Mappin's aka Zale's (can I just say that they have been *fantastic* and really surprised me with just how great they are... especially considering my usual snobbery to mall jewellery stores  ). I was at the South location and the jeweler I had been working with was at the north location today. So I made sure they weren't going to send out my ring, drove down there and picked it up. Then drove up to the North location where they fit me in to talk with Jason.On the way, I stopped and took pictures to show you my work in progress!! I'm feeling totally at ease now and can't wait for the finished product... but in the meantime, check out my near perfect ring.

Ridges... you can see the ridges in this shot, those are part of the reason the ring went back. I don't want any ridges and the baguettes need to be flush mount further down the shank.
