Today I finally received my new ring after much anticipation...

Thanks to everyone who helped with my stone selection, and especially Mara for stone and setting advice, and creating the head that served as the model for mine!

Thanks! The band is 2.8 according to Brian, but on my (unreliable) ruler, it looks more like 2.5. I''m working on better pics! I don''t have a band to try to fit against it so I''m not sure yet about how a w-band will sit.

No donut - it was just attached to the shank. But it sits a little lower down than the top of the shank surrounding it, if that makes sense. Depending on the height of a band, it might not sit flush, because the base of the prongs start sprouting out below the top of the shank. I really like the donut look, but that would be a bigger problem with a band.

i really can''t get over this ring! this head! and of course the gorgeous diamond

i love the tiffany head, but i guess it never clicked with me to mount the head without the donut. i guess i thought it came with.
dang~i wish i had seen this (or thought of it-

) before getting mine.

ah well! maybe in another life.

make this a knife-edge (cause i''m partial) and this woudl be my favorite solitaire of ALL time! this is just fabulous!~!

Jcrow, actually this isn''t the Tiffany head, but it''s the stuller solstice head (which I believe you have?) with modifications. It''s very similar to Mara''s new head. She asked WF to narrow and taper the prongs and make the prong tips very small, and make the stone sit low so the prongs look spready. I think this head actually looks better than the Tiffany head - it really "cups" the stone very well! Maybe you can have WF do some work on your head?

but to me, the bottom of the prongs look much different than mine. mine doesn''t have those extreme indents. or maybe it''s just the way yours was photographed? an illusion?

regardless, i love you ring! and that diamond really does look amazing!

There are indents - but they made those in the modification process. It''s definitely a stuller head. Mara''s looks like it has less deep indents.

That is one fabulous diamond in one fabulous setting! Very nicely done!!! Your old stone doesn''t really look all that bad in the photo, but the new one knocks your socks off.
