Hi everyone!

I love the amount of pictures that are on this site  the only thing I am missing is rings with diamonds that are below half a carat. I can totally understand that bigger is better ;-), but I'm planning on buying one around 0.4 and I'm very curious to see what they look like on you guys (or girls, mostly).

Please share your pictures!

My .30 ct solitaire. I've included a pic alone, and a pic with the wedding band, b/c I find when you choose an e-ring you don't always think about how it's going to look with the wedding band, but really when you think about it, that's how you'll mostly be wearing it.

I think the shot of my hand in the mirror provides an interesting perspective!

And a distance shot.

Based on budget :) I'm buying one to celebrate getting my bachelor's degree!

I'm almost sure I'll be getting this 0.39 carat one:
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
Polish: Very good
Symmetry.: Excellent
Fluor: None

Table % 58%
Depth % 62.7%
Culet : None
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick
Measurements: 4.67mm X 4.65mm X 2.92mm

Found here: http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/round-diamond-0-39-Carat-G-color-GIA-certified/D-VRR1JW (the reservation is by me)

Opinions please?

And I love the rings in this topic  actually I think I prefer smaller sizes, looks much cuter and more sophisticated.

My e-ring is a 0.33 solitaire and I wear it with a plain band. I don't have pictures though. I'll try to take some for you. It's such a basic set... but it's good for everyday wear on my size 3.75 finger.

I'd love to see some pictures! And why do you all have such tiny fingers :D makes my 6.75 feel HUGE, even though I do not have big fingers at all.

My fingers are slightly bigger than yours! My 0.38ct GIA I SI1, triple ex, ring size 7.5 (although sometimes I wear 7.) Not the best photos, but I hope this helps visualize how the size will look on your hands. :)

Being lazy here and have not taken a pic on its own, however, the small EC in the first row on the left is one of my every day rings that I wear (the other being the small ruby heart 3-stone ring, second row on the right hand side), and it is 0.48ct G/H, eye clean, that's all I know about it, bezel set in 5mm platinum band.

Looks great on you! Very curious to see what mine will end up looking like.. Anybody any advice on the diamond I posted above?

Thanks! :D I highly recommend posting a thread on RockyTalky since you'll get more feedback there. The diamond you posted doesn't score so well on the HCA (it scores a 5 and usually it's best to stay below 2.) I think you could find a better cut and better performing stone with your budget.

I'm so glad you posted about this! My hubby and I are looking to get a <0.5ct AVC, and the stone we're looking at is .37ct. :)

tenfour has this lovely ring, which has been giving me inspiration, because the stone size/shape are close to what we're looking at, and she and I have almost the same size ring finger (mine is 5.75). We even have the same large knuckles. So looking at this picture gives me a really good idea of what a .37 will look like on my hand.

She says, " it''s a tiffany lucida. 0.38, VVS2, D. my ring size is 5.5"

I think smaller stones look very dainty and feminine :)) I do love them.

That's my fancy pink double halo ring on my left ring finger. The center stone is a .21 pear and my ring size is 5.

Oh and you know what the funny thing is, where I'm from (the Netherlands) this is actually a rather large diamond. In most stores they only sell smaller ones.. And a white gold ring with a diamond this size would set you back about 4000-5000 dollars at most jewelry stores.

Thanks!! Getting nice profile pics is pretty hard.. Did take a few cool arrow ones with the colored paper that comes with my JA lens. By the way, do you see how it looks as if there is a tiny diamond inside my diamond? Really weird!

I have this emerald cut that is .48cts. I never made a thread for it so here it is next to a pink tourmaline.

I also have another that is slightly above a half carat at .56, but I'll show it anyway because I think the Stuller illusion setting gives it such a beautiful presence on my hand that I'm sure would also work for a diamond <.50ct.

It's next to the same stone. Apparently I felt the need to photograph this tourmaline with every one of it's brothers and sisters.

And here is a group shot with both rings in it (and the damn tourmaline) for perspective.

Wow, these are all beautiful! Just goes to show that bigger is not always better at all. I love these delicate feminine rings. Classic and elegant! :appl:

Thanks for starting this thread BTD and good luck with your setting decision. Congratulations on your graduation and I cannot wait to see your finished ring!
