That's very nice. Not sure what you meant with the vendor part, is this bought second hand or is that a store? If not bought second hand, could you please tell me where you bought this (link would be great as I'm not located in the US and may not be familiar with local vendors) and whether it was custom made or not Looking for a similar style.

This is my dearly departed mom's diamond, surrounded by heavenly sapphires set in an infinity design which has special meaning for my family.
Specs diamond 1.32ct (7.5mm) RB diamond, sapphires 1.20tcw (4.6mm) sapphires
I am so happy to be able to wear mom's diamond, surrounded by sapphires (representative of heaven) representing my folks who recently passed away. I hope to receive it today. More pics to come.

Sure was! I first saw a ring kind of like that by Grace Lavarro (http://www.jewelsbygrace.com), specifically here: http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/rings/vintage-inspired/45ct-rose-cut-diamond-phoebe-ring.html#.U7yy6GK9KSM

Caught my attention. Hers has a rose cut stone that has a cool, vaguely antique feel. The rose cut has a nice watery look to it.

I don't know if the "Phoebe" thing is an accepted name for a style or just hers. But it was similar enough that I was curious! I like both of yours, and find them delightfully vintage. And by vintage I mean like 17th century vintage. I quite like them!

Once upon a time JBEG offered a line of rings similar to lin_ny's that they called the "Phoebe" ring. Like the one in Sir Guy's post, JBEG used a simple bezel-and-frame setting to showcase rose cut diamonds, with a plain bezel rather than the milgrained bezel used in lin_ny's lovely ring. They offered them in the various shades of gold, and you could specify a high polish or matte finish. I probably don't even need to mention that I spent a bit of time drooling over them!

It's been 9 mos and although it could REALLY use a deep clean (cons of the setting), I still love it. It's "showy" in it's own modest kinda way. Hard to measure up to all these huge rocks on PS!!! I'm still dreaming of a 1.75ish higher colored OEC... But we all dream, don't we!

Here is my AVR 0.7 ct G SI2. It faces up very white & sparkly & eye-clean. I had the setting made at a local jeweler's - while I'm happy with the head and split prongs, they made the shank/band too thick (2mm) for my liking. I'm going to redo it in a totally different setting in rose gold, but wanted to post a couple of pics here on PS for posterity. ** excuse my finger muffin-top **
