First, I have to comment on Bruce Boone’s service. I’d read posts on here dating back to 2004 (when internet retailing was somewhat different than it is today) praising Bruce’s attention to his customers and unbelievable speed. Early on, he sent me 3 sample rings to take a look at, for nothing more than the cost of shipping (less than 10 bucks if I remember correctly). Over the course of getting this order completed, he responded to me by email a total of 13 times. 12 of those were in less than an hour, and the average was 16 minutes. The time of day when I sent my emails and he sent his responses varied from 7 AM to midnight, and all my questions were answered each time. I do have to admit, there was one time when he made me wait over 6 hours, presumably due to bypass surgery, or a wedding anniversary, or some such emergency. I shipped my stone out to Bruce, via first class mail last Friday afternoon. With us on opposite coasts, I figured it would reach him mid week, he’d spend a couple days building it, and with any luck I might have the ring in hand by the end of next week. You can imagine my surprise when I got an email from him Wednesday saying my ring was done and had been sent out…it arrived here about an hour shy of a week after I mailed the stone. Bottom line – I do a lot of online shopping, and have for awhile now. My first big ticket online purchase was probably 1996ish, and since then, I have never experienced service this fast, personal, and attentive from any online merchant of any sort. Incredibly well done. Next up, the goods. The stone is .55 ct, F, IF, very good pol/sym, 63% table, 66.5% depth, 5.81x3.99x2.65. The setting is Bruce Boone's Tension Squared titanium ring, 6 mm wide with a 2 mm palladium inlay, polished finish. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/new-men-s-bling-tension-set-1-2-ct-emerald-cut-t172032.html

I sold my .4 BGD bezel pendant with the intention of diving into ebay to get a larger stone for a new pendant. The plan was to use the proceeds from the sold pendant to finance the new project 100% so I needed to get a great deal on a new stone. Well... Um... Yeah... I did, but it's not going in a pendant... the pendant project still has to happen b/c I miss having it and it is the only necklace that works with some of my work clothes (and my amazingly patient DH is on board with that project even though it's not the greatest time for us to do that right now)... b/c... I used the proceeds of my pendant sale, plus most of my "fun" money to get a little something for my right hand (DH and I are both very attached to my wedding set, so my RH is the only real estate available...) Stay tuned for many, many more photos! And if I can find my loupe tomorrow, there will be many many more:-) I still have to get it verified by a jeweler but according to the seller it is a G VS approx. .8ct set in original platinum setting. It is GORGEOUS! A perfect checker board pattern, super white, but shoots rainbows, bright from edge to edge without a single dark zone. I never in a million years thought that I would get a diamond this gorgeous! The setting gives it a TON of finger presence and it turns out that it looks extra blingtastic with my antique 1.25 ct five stone (another ebay steal from a few years ago--I won the auction in the last second by $0.01, very exciting!) and it looks perfect with my "real" wedding band (my actual wedding band wasn't made in time for our wedding, so I bought a $50 antique band off of ebay a few days before our wedding and had it express shipped. A huge thanks to Dreamer_D for her OEC/ebay wisdom!!!!! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/my-gorgeous-new-checkerboard-oec-tranny-blingalisciousness-t172050.html

I bought these Andrew Sarosi earrings at Intergem. They are 18k white gold rhodium plated for the blackened effect, at least I think it is rhodium plating. Set with .76 ctw in diamonds and about .26 in yellow and blue sapphire and green tsavorite garnets. I was looking for a dangley pair of art deco earrings but just feel in love with these. They have a beautiful movement to them and are quite three dimensional and just generally amazing to wear. While I photographed them in the day they are amazing at night. Andrew Sarosi's jewelry is quite lovely in person, very unique, and uses high quality gems (from what I can tell) and can be found at Intergem shows and online at Africagems.com, they also have a store in LA - giving me yet another reason to go there. I was lucky enough to be meeting fellow-pricescoper the lovely Ms. Cellentani who looked at these with her loupe and helped to enable me! In general Intergem is alot of fun and I very much enjoyed seems gems in person that I've only seen online. Perhaps when I'm feeling braver or next time I might have to get a stone to set, although for those of you that don't know it Intergem also has amazing estate jewelry in a wide range of prices - most of which I thought were very good. You could easily drop tens of thousands if you were so inclined! Or have fun with the cheap beads they sell! It is quite a gem and jewelry show! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/sarosi-wing-gem-and-diamond-earrings-t172035.html

Good morning! A few weeks ago, I contacted IDJ about getting a 7 stone band for a RHR. I worked with Luann, who was absolutely fabulous and extremely patient in my endless questions. I finally decided on the low profile setting with 7 stones. In the meantime, I was thinking of a birthday gift for my mom. I decided that she would love one also but in yellow gold. So I ended up getting two 7 stone rings, one in white gold and the other in yellow! The arrived after only about a week and they are gorgeous! They are so sparkly, I can't believe it. I should also add that I'm a jewelry photographer newbie so the pics aren't the greatest but I just had to share! Here are the stats on both rings: 7 X .15 diamonds = 1.05 tcw FG, SI, Ideal cut diamonds http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/idj-rocks-7-stone-bands-t172055.html

And I love her. <3 I posted in the Show Me the Bling forum, but thought I'd post her here, too. I'd been waiting to join the ranks of the Pricescoper's (been lurking for over 4 years..) until I had an old stone to share (well, any stone for that matter ), and on Christmas, I finally got it. So here she is: "A transitional cut diamond of about .20 carats (H-I color; VS1-SI1 clarity) with a white gold collet surrounded by twelve (12) shaped sapphires. Wings of white gold accent each shoulder with a triangle shaped sapphire." from The Three Graces. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/timeless-classics/my-very-first-old-stone-t169954.html

I also bought this ruby and diamond ring from Charles Alexander, on the Isle of Man. As with my Manx diamond hoops, posted about earlier, this ring reminds me of a very special time in my life when I was closely involved with the Isle of Man through my company's work for five years. I spent a lot of time there and made many friends. I am so glad I bought a nice Manx ring to remind me of the place - especially since I ended up moving so far away. Sometimes I look at the island on the webcam that they have set up on the coast - how sad is that! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/my-manx-ruby-and-diamond-ring-from-the-isle-of-man-t172096.html

I bought this in 2005....just because I felt like it! It's from the jewellery quarter in my home town in England, and the jeweller possesses some old Art Deco jewellery moulds. He makes new jewellery from the Art Deco moulds, so although the pieces are new they have a heritage look. I also have a beautiful gold and diamond Art Deco bracelet from him, covered in an earlier thread of mine. This ring is too big and the citrine is loose. I need to get it altered and repaired. It's got amazing sparkles though - shame the camera can't catch that! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/my-hexagonal-diamond-and-citrine-ring-t172087.html

I bought this diamond from James Allen because I thought it was an excellent price, 18 months ago. It's a Hearts and Arrows AGS triple 0, scores 0.8 on the HCA, weighs 0.52, and is a D colour. It's also an SI2, but whatever inclusions there are, they are white and I have never been able to find them even with my x30 loupe. It's super, super sparkly, which you'd expect from a cut like that. The diamond cost $1,050, which I thought was amazing for over half a carat, D, and triple 000 cut. I used an existing white gold chain that I'd had for years, and EB Horn in Boston made the bezel. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/james-allen-d-colour-diamond-bezel-pendant-t172118.html

The engagement ring has a 5mm centre stone with 3mm sidestones, so I estimate that at about 70 points total, and the wedding band has two 2.5mm stones and four stones just shy of 3mm, so about 50 points total (?). His future fiancee' wears a size 5 ring, so there's a lot of finger presence and I think she'll be thrilled with his choice. I just think the rings are adorable, especially as they're so small -- I wear a size 9 so these eensy weensy little rings are like Barbie rings to me! I know buying non-certificated stones from a pawn shop will horrify many PSers, but I had to respect my brother's choice. Neither he nor his girlfriend know/care anything about diamonds, so finding something pretty and sparkly was pretty much the only criteria. I just did my best to help him avoid buying a dud! The shop was selling the engagement ring for $599 and the band for $199, so $798 total, which I thought was a pretty good deal. After the family discount, he paid $600 total, which I thought was a fantastic deal as these stones all face up very white and are eye clean. My main objective was to make sure he didn't go into Zales and pay $3500 for $600-worth of rings, so if he paid $600 for $600-worth of rings, that's fine by me! My pics aren't the best as I can't capture the fire from the stones -- they're so sparkly! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/the-most-adorable-rings-i-ve-ever-seen-t172137.html

She and my grandpa have worked hard all of their lives to give their nine children the best life they possibly can. All of whom have them to thank for their survival in Cambodia's concentration camps... like in the movie "The Killing Fields"... and their present success. My aunts and uncles are all successful entrepreneurs, which means they can provide only the best for their own children. My grandparents have twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. According to them, they wanted to make sure that their grandchildren has something to remember them by if something were to happen to them, so we went to the jewelry store, not all at once of course, and picked out a ring to have a half carat diamond set. I wear mines as a right hand ring. This is what I chose... I feel so spoiled!!! I'm hoping we have a family reunion soon so I can get a picture of all of our hands to show what we each chose. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/grandparents-gift-to-me-t172182.html

I wanted to update you all on my ring. I decided on a GIA, 1.50ct L, SI1 with strong blue, Excellent cut diamond. It is set in a white gold solitaire setting made by Henri Deussi. I reached out to a few vendors here on PS, in search of a diamond. I am so glad to have this type of community to work with. Yekutiel really extended himself to find this for me. I compared the GIA L to an GIA J with a medium blue that was overnighted to me and I could not see a visible color difference between the two. Overall I am very happy. Yes it is definitely and L and definitely warm in some lighting (in my school under the overhead lights) but it sparkles like CRAZY!!!! I went through many stones until settling on this one. Yekutiel was super sweet to work with, he really searched for something that worked for me. He promised me that the stone would be 1000% clean and I can't see a single thing, even with my eagle eye! I have been getting many compliments on how sparkly it is, and I am very proud to wear it. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/rockytalky/idj-ring-update-t172191.html

This is my mom's engagement ring. I thought I'd share it since it's custom. It's been beat up pretty bad since she works with her hands a lot, but I still think it's lovely.
Center stone: G, VS1, somewhere around 1/3 ct. Side stones: H, VS1, not too sure of the weight From Solid Gold Inc. in Easley, SC

It's a marquis. It looks a little pear-ish in the photos because one of the prongs is tighter than the other since she hits her ring on things all the time. She's really violent with her jewelry. |

So as I mentioned earlier, most of my trips to the diamond district are centered around finding settings for colored stones, and wouldn't you know it - IDJ had the most beautiful, delicate halo setting that happened to fit one of my stones. The 2.83ct Uruguay amethyst is 9x9mm and faceted by Gary Braun, and the delicious prongs were done by IDJ - both are exquisite and I couldn't be more pleased! For colored stones, finding a setting is only half the battle - a skilled bench can be even more elusive, and I'm very impressed with IDJ's. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/first-idj-venture-new-jackets-setting-plus-eye-candy-t172216.html
