This is a used setting which formerly held my 4.88 ct sapphire, but the stone was beginning to get chipped.

I removed the sapphire and started looking for a less expensive stone to replace it. Yes, the new stone will get chipped too, but I've learned my lesson. The sapphire will eventually get a halo.

At first I looked for a chrysoberyl but finally decided to get a stone on sale at Master Cut Gems. It's a 3.52 ct 11.1 X 8.2 X 6.3 mm natural green tourmaline from Nigeria.

And here is the final result. I like it.

Wow, that's absolutely gorgeous! The green appears to be throwing off so many shades. I see hunter green, seafoam, even some blue, lime and a bit of yellow. It looks perfect in your setting, like it was meant to be!

Thanks for sharing!
