I've posted this ring before...but it's never "starred" in it's very own thread.  Was playing with my camera,  and thought I'd share.

I always refer to this as "Mom's diamond"...it doesn't feel like mine.  I feel sort of like I have "temporary custody' of it.Image

Dad bought it from a jeweler/friend in the '60s.  It is said to have come out of an estate from the '20s-'30s.  It was uncertified.  I guess this means that it is sort of a contemporary of the original asschers,  but obviously isn't one:  small clipped corners and not an octagon...and not really square, either!

I got the ring after my Mom died,  and eventually had it certified and remounted.
