Hello world!  I''ve been quietly admiring many of your rings from afar for about a year now, building my collection of dream rings.  Then in late December my now FI totally surprised me with a ring that was more beautiful and more me than anything I could have thought up myself.  He had me totally convinced that we were nowhere close to getting engaged (though we both knew it was coming eventually) so despite his ridiculously romantic plans and the whole set-up I didn''t see it coming at all. 


He had the ring designed in Hong Kong (when he was there for work for 3 days) and purchased the stone there too.  The ring design is based off of the Cartier 1895 soliatire, but with 3-sided pave (drool).  We''re trying to have the same jeweler design both of our bands. 


What I know about the ring... set in platinum, center stone is 1.22 H VS1.  I forget what the ct weight of the pave stones are but I know they are all F-G color.


I know I''m 987.56% biased but I think he did an incredible job!  Here are some photos I took a couple of days after the proposal.
