I finally got my Jeff White asscher spinel set. It''s such a neat stone, really moody! Sometimes it''s a super dark pink, and others, it''s a dark purple. I''ll start by posting Jeff''s pic of the stone.
The stone is 1.74 carats and measures about 6.6 mm.
Here''s a pic of it set in the ring. I am a horrible photographer and it is overcast today. The stone looks darker in the pics than it does in reality.
The setting is a 14k white gold halo (not sure of the diamond carat weight) made by Gottlieb & Sons. I bought it and had the ring set at a local B&M store. In fact, I call this my hometown ring because I bought the stone locally from Jeff White and I got it set locally as well!
Oh -- my ring size is 5, just in case anyone''s curious!
oops I hit submit just as you were posting. Sorry about that!
It is beautiful!
Do you notice that the stone looked a darker once it was set? I'm curious as to the type of setting for my sapphire (YIPPEEEEEEE) that Jeff is working on.
I promise that I will try to take better pics soon, LostSapphire... Maybe the sun will come out this weekend. Of course, I''ll be out of town this weekend!
I really can''t say enough nice things about Jeff. His stones are exquisite and he''s a really nice person to work with. I''ve already sent him an email saying that next, I want something fiery and red!
Oh -- I don''t really think my stone looks darker now that it''s set, but I think that''s because of the setting I chose. It holds the stone up a little higher than I usually like, but I am usually a bezel setting with the stone touching my skin kind of girl!
My jeweler was concerned about that for me and he let me play with a LOT of settings, putting my stone down into them. I didn''t notice that my stone got much darker in any of them, really.
I''m betting your stone will be amazingly beautiful!
I love that stone! It has a deep, delicious wine color to it that makes my mouth water! The setting is quite stunning... Nice job on the whole shabang! I LOVE IT!!!
