The proposal was this past Wednesday, and was simple and sweet. Some of you may have read about our search for a chunky cushion and the process of getting the setting custom made. Thank goodness it is finished and on my finger!!!! We''re so excited and have started planning (a little bit)!

It is a 1.53 carat cushion, but this picture makes it look reallllly big! My ring size is 5.5

I have to give lots of credit to this website, and boston_jeff and Pixley! I was completely inspired by their beautiful rings!!!

Now, if only I can figure out how to take great macro shots - it is so much more stunning in person!

You got yourself a beauty. I love the simplicity of the setting and the chunky faceting of the stone. Wow! Look at that small table and the depth is pretty good too (under 60%) to get such a large spread.

Sometimes the mind ignores what is logical because the person cannot accept the reality of what it is.

Thank you so much for all of your kind words! I really appreciate it! I am so lucky to be engaged to my best friend, but also a man that made sure I got the ring of my dreams, even if it was more than he originally thought he would spend!

I promise I will post more pics soon - I am a kindergarten teacher and am in the last few days of school, with 43 report cards to finish!!!

I love it very much. I have to ask for a IRL picture, like from a distance or something.

It really is a stunning cushion. I mean I see a lot of cushion even bigger but this one has such an adorable facets. It looks more than just stunning. I''m sorry I just lost words. I think I am in love with your cushion now.
