Remember every day the importance of "Be Here Now." Don't just show up, don't dwell on the past or worry needlessly about the future. Instead, be present in the moment and make your time count.
In loving memory of BLN....gone at 36, we know you'd give anything to be here with us now and we all promise to live as you would have: balls to the wall & full speed ahead! |

Thanks for all the compliments!
This was an upgrade for our 5th anniversary, from a 1.73 ct I/VVS2 princess (non-GIA, in reality probably a J-K/VS1) in a solitaire setting. This center stone was on listed on the Pricescope database. It had been available for a while which really surprises me, but there probably isn''t a huge demand for 4-5 ct cushion diamonds. Mark got us an even better price than the lowest on Pricescope! Specifics from the GIA cert: cushion brilliant 10.79 x 10.74 x 6.19 mm 4.71 ct depth 57.6% table 58% culet small polish & symmetry good clarity vs2 color G fluor med blue The stone is completely eye clean as a VS2 should be. There are some extra facets on the pavilion, as well as a tiny natural, but these aren''t noticeable without magnification and do not detract from the stone''s beauty. I knew this was the stone when I saw out while on memo at a local wholesaler. The cutter of this stone apparently normally cuts round brilliants. I would bet this stone''s rough started life as a 5ct round but had to be polished down into a cushion to remove some inclusions, hence the 4.71 weight. While the depth may seem low for a cushion, it has great brilliance and the spread is awesome -- face dimensions are more typical of a 5+ ct stone. The depth and table are actually very close to the Scan DN round ideal. We saw the setting at a local B&M, and they frequently advertise it in the regional fashion magazines, and wanted it bad. But of course their pricing was outrageous. Fortunately Mark had a "connection" with the maker, Harry Kotlar, and we got the stone set in the exact same branded setting at an unbeatable price. The setting is two pieces, the ring with center stone plus a separate wedding separate band. We''re both very pleased with it and my wife''s finger has been getting a lot of attention from everyone! |
