Skippy, I have to admit, when I first read your post, I thought, what do they mean, I posted some xmas shots? Then the lightbulb went on.

Thank you so very much for your kind words. It''s funny, my SIL says I''m one of the least judgemental people she knows, and that I expect everyone else to be that way, and I shouldn''t. She''s right, but, that''s just the way I am. Besides, I''d rather be me than them.

Hey Gail,

Thanks! grape is correct, it's 18kt. Another thing that helps, I don't do much with it on, and I had just had it cleaned and polished, but it does stay pretty shiny to the eye. But if you look at some of these (prior) macro shots, you can definitely see scratches.

Funny you asked about the band. When I took it to be cleaned, I looked briefly at bands, but told her I'd wait til I got my rings back to decide. To make a long story short, I did't like how they handled my stuff, so now I have to find a new jeweler, and I'll buy the band from them. *sigh* It may take me awhile.
