Hi, Josh!!

Thanks for all your help!

Face up it is very white. From the side if you have another stone with a better color, you might be able to tell a tint... otherwise by itself... can't tell a single thing...

BTW, I think I might want to look for a stone for myself that's 1 carat but with lots of FIRE...

I understand with fire, there will be less brilliance...

What do I have to look for if I want more fire?

Hey Leota,

Well there are many factors that come into play which determine a diamonds performance...

One crucial area is the crown and pavillion angle relationship...Try looking at a stone with a steeper crown angle...35 degress +...Stones with smaller tables also show more fire...There's no magic number but I like stones with tables around 55.

A stone with more fire will have a little less brilliance but imagine the perfect combination of the 3 (Brilliance, Fire, Scintillation) a big balancing act..If you have more of one element you might be trading off a little in the other...

Either way diamonds in these categories present their own unique look...

Do you mean crown angle?? As I was waiting for your reply.. I found a thread saying something like the crown angle has to be 35.5 + and the pavillion has to be lower like close to 40?

Would it be something like this? http://www.goodoldgold.com/3_024ct_h_vs2__h%26a.htm

I notice this one had a higher crown angle of 35.1 and the pav. is close to 40
