Hello all!
I've been lurking on PS for about a year now, drooling over everyone's gorgeous rings and looking for inspiration for my own ring setting.
Nearly ten years ago, after about six months of very long-distance dating (I was in NY while he was in Northern Ireland!) Hubby and I got engaged quite quickly and married four days later - for no reason other than being very eager! We bought my engagement ring from one of the jewelers on Diamond Row in NYC. They had a beautiful loose stone (.71ct Round Brilliant cut, E color (one jeweler said G), SI clarity [eye clean]), the sparkliest one I had ever seen, and we both knew it was the one, but the only setting they had to put it in was 4-prong, very high and not very aesthetic to me. (The photo showing two rings and their profiles shows just how high my setting was!) As we were in such a rush we went ahead anyway, the jeweler set it overnight and we were engaged the next day in Central Park!
Years went by and there was always the idea that we would have my diamond re-set, but for one reason or another we didn't have the money. Well, here we are, two kids, two trans-Atlantic moves and ten years later and I finally got my 'new' ring!
