OMG, backwardsandinheels, your ring is fantastic! I've probably looked at it a million times. Absolutely gorgeous! I love having those side designs (as I'm sure you do too). They're kind of a signature design element of Single Stone and I had to go with them!

Hi Lorri!!!!!!!!! I need to see pics of your pekes! I can't remember seeing them before. I had two pekes growing up. They lived for 15 years and I miss them dearly.

It's an absolutely gorgeous ring! Stunning centre stone, and that setting! SWOON! It makes me want to reset my OEC AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE HER YET!!

Rika...i'm sure you are still obsessed with your gorgeous ring...the stone/the setting...perfection! Could you please post the stats on your stone? ....it is lovely and you stated it was a little shallow. I always like to see the specs on these lovely old cuts, each one with it's own personality.

You can post more pic's any time too...can't get enough of that old cut bling! (your puppy is darling!)

Hi Ariel! Of course I can add specs!

I don't know the percentages for pavilion, depth, etc., but I do at least know the mm sizes - 10.44 x 10.16 x 5.28. Single Stone and Greenwich Jewelers were great about sending over stones (both set and unset) so I could see everything in person. I was really wary of that super shallow depth initially. There were some really nice OECs that I looked at, but surprisingly, this is the one that sparkled the most despite its shallowness. It's kind of a weird hybrid between an OEC with the petal design at the edges, and an OMC with the "maltese cross" look in the center. It ended up being the one that spoke to me the most, so I went with it despite its imperfections, and I still couldn't be happier!

I'll have to update the post with some new pics because I still look at it and can't believe I have such a beautiful little treasure on my hand!

p.s. Just realized I do at least have this shot for a little perspective!

The formula for getting the depth % is to divide the mm depth by the lowest diameter mm:

5.28 divided by 10.16 = 52% depth (.5196

10.44 x 10.16 x 5.28

Amazing how there are no rules when it comes to old cuts. thanks for sharing more pics too.
