Cushion Cut 1 CT w/ Halo setting from JA - Finally asked!

Hey all. After 5 years, I popped the question and asked her to marry me on 04/26/13 and she said yes! She was/is ecstatic and loves the ring! It's a Cushion Cut - Modified Brilliant from JamesAllen - 1.01ct with their 14k white gold pave halo setting. She's been getting compliments left and right on it from people she's showed and they've been saying that I did a great job picking it out. Thanks to all on PS here that helped me! I was skeptical at first about ordering from an online site, however I've had nothing but positive experiences with JA, considering I initially bought a ring off there, didn't like it, and returned/exchanged it for this and had no problems with their services. I highly recommend them!

Now I just have to research jewelery insurance to get this puppy insured!

It's beautiful, congratulations!! As far as insurance, get an appraisal from an independent appraiser (i.e. not a jeweler) and then you have a few options: add it on as a rider to your existing home or renters insurance or go through a separate insurance policy such as USAA or Jeweler's Mutual. While it may be more convenient to just do an add on, many people here prefer separate policies because they give you more freedom to choose your own jeweler or have better replacement policies in the terrible case that you would need to cash out on your insurance plan. That said, enjoy that beautiful sparkler on her finger!!

I was looking into Jeweler's Mutual briefly, not entirely yet. I have to read through all the pages and see what they offer, same with USAA. The ring came with an appraisal from JamesAllen that was signed off by a certified appraiser. Would it be wise to go somewhere else to get this done also? I know it costs some money to get another written appraisal from somewhere. Thanks for the tips also.
