Ok, I think this will have to be the last one ... which is not to say there isn''t more!
There''s the tabletop (platters, china, vases, candle holders, etc.) a couple watches, scarves, stationery (journals, note cards), pens, sterling book markers, baby mugs, piggy banks ...
AHHH it was truly an addiction!
I see now that I could''ve benefitted from some therapy (or was this the retail therapy HAHA)!

Ok, I don''t think you''ll get to see the reall beauty though this last picture. They are so beautiful in person.
They are a pair of 11mm grey Tahitian pearls. They were slightly not matched in color and so they sold them as is to employees. I think Tiffany only sold them with bezel set diamonds as part of the Etoile collection.

Those circle earring are Picasso''s and I love them and want them and will marry them.

So what are you doing for jewelry these days? I mean you mentioned Cartier, etc.

It would be scary to see the damage you could do in there

So HappyDay you could be our Tiffany spy mole!

Sorry to hi-jack your own thread but how do people know they are indeed getting Tiff''s diamond (e-ring) when
buying on ebay if they don''t inspect and read the laser inscription on stone or find some other proof that the stone wasn''t swapped?

And would you post pics. of some of your treasures? Afterall this is SMTR.

Does Tiff''s change ownership easily when you purchase off ebay or signed pieces for example?

How would you get proof of new ownership on secondhand jewelry?

And how old is your little one? Mine''s almost 1 (Olivia).

So many questions.

I just love Tiffany''s. I know it''s overpriced and blah, blah, blah...

To quote Holly, ''Nothing bad ever happens to you in Tiffany''s.''

Except the price tag.
Not sure about this ...
Gosh - it''s been over 6 years since I was there, so I''m sure a lot has changed with their computers, etc.

From what I recall, they tracked items purchased by customer name, not necessarily by item, so they could track your total spending and such. Maybe that is quite different for erings and other larger "one-of-a-kind" pieces, but I''m not certain (lisa - you know from your ering purchase). I just know that for pieces "mass" produced (etoile ring, sixteen stone, all silver etc), there would be no identifiying marker on it. They could put your name in the system and see that you never purchased it yourself from a store, but that is not to say that someone else didn''t purchase it for you, and who knows what name that person used. There were many clients that purchased SUPER expensive items and just gave pretend names so as to not be identified.

I believe you can bring a second hand purchased item to customer service and they will authenticate it for you and provide a valuation ... but i''m not sure what they are charging for that now.

Totally didn''t mean to sound obnoxious with that comment (sorry if anyone took it that way)... my cartier collection is not large at all, but I''m a HUGE fan. I have the Trinity rolling ring, a matching chain with mini rolling pendant, and a watch.
It''s a baby collection that wants to grow up

So now I have to ask...what kind of discounts do their SAs get? Maybe I need another job...
When I was there, in general, the discount was 30% for yourself or gifts you purchased (*read* paid for yourself) ...
which truthfully is not even a dent in their prices!
You could request to purchase some items and receive 50% off if approved (after you were there for a while), but this had to be soley for your own use (could not buy for a friend etc).
I think discounts on erings for employees were handled case by case ... depending on supply and demand of the given stone/stones. I never really knew those policies because I was already engaged then.
And for the lucky few who worked in NY, there was an employee store where you could sometimes find deeper discounts on samples, returns, overstocked items, etc.
Does that satisfy the curiousities?
