Here is my Anniversary ring from the wonderful team at BGD. As a happy coincidence, my diamond ring has coincided with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Special thanks to Jamie for navigating me along the path to realising my lovely ring. I got so much more ring for my money than I would have buying here in Australia and the process is really straightforward - as long as you work out what you want!

.728 Brian Gavin Signature H&A, G VS2 Ring size: 4.25

My sapphire ring also felt like being in on a photo shoot. My two lovelies!

Thank you so much for your generous comments and for sharing with me in my delight over my new ring. I'm glad I've pulled on a few heart strings with the yellow gold. I actually come onto this board and fall in love with the beautiful platinum and white gold settings; they look so fresh and bright but unfortunately as soon as they find their way onto my finger they just look cold. So yellow gold it is. Although one thing I have discovered is that often in different lights the metal recedes and I'm left looking at a fine diamond line and a bright diamond centre. I love that.

One other thing I wanted to mention was the point that hoofbeats95 mentioned with her ring. Her "the Jen" was based on the Jurica ring that I own and I think the point she made is worth repeating for anyone who may be interested in this ring. She put it well, so I'll quote her directly: "Top-down it doesn't look cathedral, so the shank doesn't shrink my stone like my old setting did." I too feel the stone is definitely the star in this ring.

Beautiful rings! I love both yellow gold and platinum, but I do love how a diamond stands out with the contrast of yg!

Love that yellow gold too but I really like the diamonds in the ering shank paired with the plain band. We see so many plain shanks with diamond bands that the reverse is really pretty and refreshing.

Enjoy your new beautiful ring!

Thankyou all. You choose what you love but it is lovely to also have some positive affirmation from others.

justginger - just between you and me, I've named my ring Little Poppy. I've also had a history of naming inanimate objects. When we were first married, we embarked on a working holiday that saw us very reliably escorted all over the world in a kombi van called Pigglejam.

It is gorgeous, and looks perfect on your hand- the gold, the setting, the diamond. The works. Congratulations on your anniversary!

Polished, that is one of the greatest inanimate object names I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Pigglejam. Brilliant.

Our household, from memory right now (doubtless to say there are others I have forgotten) include Boris, Helga, Boris Junior and Baby Helga, Drake Grayson, Ashley, Poppy, Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler. And Pinky McPopperson. Nothing comes close to touching the genius of Pigglejam.

I think there is something in giving inanimate objects names. Pigglejam responded much more readily to her name than our dog ever does to his. I swear Little Poppy's diamond has swelled in size after having praise heaped upon her from a number of highly experienced and discerning jewelery lovers. Another day I'll explore this further as a possible cure for DDS setting in. I had to google "drake grayson" but it sounds deliciously Dickensian.

Thank you all for the anniversay wishes. It really was special. Normally for our anniversary, my husband picks a single rose from our garden and places it in a vase together with a card. I add my card and then in the evening after the working day we sit down and open our cards over our rose, a candle and a wine. This year we mixed it up and I'm so happy!

Happy Anniversary, Polished! (I think I may have missed what year it was... but I'm SURE it's not the same as the Queen's jubilee - 75years??? I don't think so!! :D )

Your ring is beautiful!!! I love the channel set diamonds on the shank - perfect! And it sure has a nicer name (little Poppy) than if it had been called Pigglejam!! LOL!! That's hilarious!!!

Congratulations and enjoy your new beauty! I think the gang at BGD are amazing, too!!

Thank you very much Enerchi, Skippy and junebug I'm reassured by the outside opinion that the plain band compliments the diamond ring with sidestones. BGD do a lovely matching band with this ring, that I ummed and arred over, before thinking that the size of the centre diamond didn't need the extra competition for attention. I've now noticed BGD are saying they prefer to make the e-ring with the matching band at the same time in order to get measurements precise.

Enerchi - 75 years (60 years for a Diamond Jubilee apparently!) - so far we're lucky to have made it to much less than half that!
I'm so pleased your ring arrived at such a similar time to my own. It made me appreciate Brian's craftsmanship that much more. His custom made pieces are amazing. I also loved Hoofbeats BGD re-make of her princess cut solitaire. I detect that it takes a certain degree of courage for people, who haven't been entirely happy with what they had, to make the change but it also shows that if you're prepared to take that plunge, you can be rewarded many times over.
