Re: Are there any other plus-size LIW??

If you're breast feeding you need to make sure you're fulfilling your nutritional needs--both for you and your baby. If you're only consuming juice/smoothies you might not be getting proper nutrition. As others suggested, seeing a nutritionist would be a very wise idea. If you're not feeling good ab...

Re: Finally Got One -- My 1920's French Cut Eternity Ring!

So beautiful Demelza! Would you consider sizing beads? That might help it fit well and they are very comfortable. It's fabulous! French cut eternity bands are my favorite! Such a classic style, yet still unique since they're not something you see every day. I echo Missy's suggestion re: sizing bead...
Re: Best bath towels?

We got some great Marrimekko from Crate for our wedding that are still fantastic. The ones we got besides those for our wedding did not make it very long, those were like wicked expensive Wamsutta ones and they lasted MAYBE 2 years before they were thin and crappy. We returned them and got money ba...

Re: Best bath towels?

I bought a set of Macy's Hotel Collection sheets and they pilled terribly after a few washes. They were so bad I actually took them back used. I bought a set of Ralph Lauren towels about 5-6 months ago at HomeGoods. We desperately needed new towels, the color worked and the price was right. It was o...

Re: What unwanted creatures have you seen in your home?

I hate to sound preachy, but I BEG... Please don't kill mice and rats with poison. Not only because it's a terrible way for them to die, but because poisoned mice and rats can poison other animals: fox, raccoons, coyote, cats, birds of prey--most notably owls. http://www.environmentalhealthnews.org/...

Re: Travel Advice - Washington DC and NYC

Forgot to add that there's a bus from DC to NYC -- I think it's Bolt or something like that, and it's 25 bucks. Not sure about the details but I'm sure you could google it... Good Luck! I think the Fung Wa bus goes from NYC-DC. Is this the same thing you're thinking of? I've taken that between Bost...

Re: Smallest ring size ever! 2.5

I read somewhere that even if your weight fluctuates, your finger size shouldn't change that much. Maybe half a size or so. Before I got married and gained 50 freaking pounds, I was a size 6.5-7. But now I'm a size 9.5... And my hands always feel swollen. I wonder if this is a medical issue... Haha...

Re: The setting or the stone? (partial rant)

What about getting your dream setting and setting it with a "stone that cannot be mentioned" here? Not a CZ, but a m........ite? They're sparkly, and very pretty, IMO. You can get a .75-1ct for about $200-$300 and keep it in the setting until you can save enough to replace with the .75-1ct...

Re: Dark Skin, Warm Diamond?

Unless you're **extremely** color-sensitive, I think it will look very white to you. The tint in a J colored stone is nearly imperceptible to most people's eye. And I don't think skin color really affects how white or tinted a stone appears. If anything, I would think that the contrast between a nea...

Re: Travel Advice - Washington DC and NYC

Coming back from Montauk once I had to return a borrowed car in the city. It was terrible. We got horribly lost, it was super stressful and it took about 2.5 hours longer than it should have and I had a panic attack/major meltdown along the way. I missed my friend's wedding ceremony and most of the ...

YT--I actually don't know if the cat died. It might have been fine. He was sitting near me and I said, "why would you do that??? Did it die??" he replied, "I dunno. It ran away into the bushes. Cats are stupid" and cackled. I still hate that kid. He still lives nearby--with his ...

Re: Copying, and ... copying

This will be well-received, but I don't really care...there seems to be a lot of snobbishness in this thread. I haven't read through the entire thing, but I've read some of the posts and they're terribly rude, elitist and inconsiderate of other's feelings. Like Thing 2 said--why do you care if some ...

Re: Hey Baby-Whats your sign?

I'm a Pisces with Leo rising. Chinese sign is sheep, and I'm an ENFP personality. I have very strong emotions--I'm very reactive, but I also get over things quickly. I struggle with routine, deadlines and loathe the mundane. I am generally a very happy person, I'm extremely extroverted and friendly ...

Re: Do You Talk In Your Sleep?

Um, yeahhhh... Usually it's just laughing or mumbling, but a couple years ago, during a stressful time in my life, I sat straight up in bed and screamed--like, a terrible blood-curdling we're-all-going-to-die kind of scream and then began saying, "there's someone in the house! A man was standin...

Tuffy: I love Dax! I love the pictures I've seen of him galavanting in the surf (you did post them somewhere else, didn't you?) and I love the all tuckered out photo. Re: Animal rescue -- heartbreaking

Such a sweet happy face. It's incredible that dogs can be treated so terribly by people, yet still love and trust them. I have a strong intuition that she is going to make it and be adopted by a loving family who will adore her and give her the life she deserves. As for the people who neglected her....

There is a Tesla service center around the corner from my office, and there are quite a few of them in my building's parking garage. The first time I saw The sedan I had to do a double-take... I was like, "what's that fancy thing?!?!" it's very slick, congrats! Hope you get some good weath...

Re: Off leash dog a menace

Dealing with bureaucracy is so frustrating--I feel for you. Last year my neighbor's dog breeched our shared fence and killed my dog in my own back yard. I filed a complaint with animal control, but nothing came of it. I was given the same kind of apathetic response: they won't do anything unless th...

Re: Off leash dog a menace

I'm shocked that dogs are allowed to run off-leash at public parks in your city! There are a few designated off-leash parks in our city, but everywhere else, dogs *must* be leashed. I feel its really unfair that dog owners are given preferential treatment--it seems really unfair that people have to ...

How awful! I am so angry for you! It's really unfair of the owners to be so irresponsible! Hope you are feeling better and if you see the owners out walking again, you should say something! Don't be confrontational or angry or they'll become defensive, but they should be aware that their dog can rea...
