Re: Help me decide on a MWM setting?
Hi LIttleRiver! I have had the same experience with my current Locke's setting, no one can notice the tiny diamonds even when they look closely! haha! But when I look I see them, and I THINK that the diamonds that Mark uses are going to be a little bit larger than the ones in my Lockes. So I do thi... |

Re: Help me decide on a MWM setting?
Sunkist, is there something wrong with your Lockes setting? We all loved it so much at the time. Just wondering because you seem to be looking at a very similar replacement. DS, there's nothing wrong with my Lockes setting. DH just wanted to get me an upgrade! So now I"m setting a much larger ... |

Help me decide on a MWM setting?
Does anyone want to help me sort out which setting to choose? I've had my heart set for a little while now on a Petite Torchiere with small diamonds in the crown. I'm just trying right now to make my final decision, and make sure I'm making the right decision. I'm setting a 2ct transitional cut ston... |

Insuring stone before setting?
I'm getting ready to set a beautiful stone I just got from JbEG! I'm pretty sure I'm going with the MWM torchiere. He does suggest getting the stone insured before shipping it to him. So can I just add the stone on to our home insurance? Or should I get separate insurance? Thanks!

Re: Opinion on these OECs?
Well I had that stone in my possession last week (in fact I guess I do have lots of other pics I personally took of it!), and I did take it to to a couple jewelry stores with only a few options. One of the stores had your typical jewelry store lighting which I do not like, cause I feel like I can't ... |

And, FK, I really like the patterns in a couple of the OECs that you have posted!! So I do hope that means that the above stone will be beautiful too |

And do you think that I should ask for an ASET or just ask to see the stone with my own eyes. I guess it would be nice to do both! |

Re: Opinion on these OECs?
Thanks GemFever and ForteKitty! The second picture of the solo stone is one I've seen in person and really liked. It has chips and nicks on the girdle and scratches on the facets. Vendor says he can clean it up and not loose any weight. Should I have him do this and then take it to an appraiser befo... |

Re: Diamond doesn't match Cert
I don't own the stone, I'm looking to purchase. I did see the stone personally and to me everything else seemed to match, except the culet. The stone and cert are provided by a vendor, Old world diamonds. The GIA cert is dated Feb2012. I did not take to a separate appraiser. |

Diamond doesn't match Cert
If a diamond doesn't exactly match it's GIA certificate, will this affect using the cert for insurance purposes? The discrepancy between the stone and the cert is the culet. The stone has a medium culet, yet the GIA cert says "none." This is on an OEC stone, I don't mind the culet, I just ... |

Re: 14k Palladium White Gold & Plat950
No, I haven't considered a spacer, just considering having the new ring done in all Palladium950. 14k Palladium White Gold & Plat950
If I wear a 14k Palladium White Gold ring next to my PT950 ring will the PD ring still get worn down?? I can get 950 Palladium instead. Is this better to pair with my PT ring than the 14k PD white gold mixture? THANKS! |

Set precious stones in Sterling Silver??
I'm just starting a thought process for a new pendant I think I want - a blue topaz center stone with sapphire halo. I'm wondering about what metal I want to use though. Can sapphire or diamond halos be safely set in sterling silver?? Or does this sound like a project that should be set in gold?? |
