Re: Need help finding an asscher cut diamond

Wonder if Pippa Middleton's engagement has something to do with the availability of asschers? I have been waiting to see if
many people are going to enquire about asschers. Maybe they are being re-priced? :eh:

KarlK , need to get marketing going on the Octavia.

Re: Who...

Winks Elf is my second vote. Always kind and helpful, infact could be joint equal with Acinom.

My vote goes to Acinom.

She is always welcoming people in the Colored Stones forum and keeps track of what everyone is doing and shows off all her beautiful rings. Without a doubt she gets my vote.

Re: What is this stone worth? Did I get a good deal?

Thank you for all this information. Would the royal blue stones to the right of this chart be more or less costly in general than the $12,000 per carat stated for the two stones in the selection you made? Also would the price go down as you go down the chart and up as you go towards the top of the e...

Re: Does upgrading diamond mean a new ring?

Never heard of upgrading in the United Kingdom in real life but on this board 99% of women want and get a new ring.

Re: *WHICH STONE* is better?

Stone two is not too big for her finger at all, we have people on here with 3 carat stones on size three fingers and it looks great. It is an interesting topic. My lady's finger size is 3.5. She and I were shopping together, tried multiple rings, and agreed that anything larger than 1.0c was too bi...

Re: What is this stone worth? Did I get a good deal?

Maybe I am confusing saturation with tone. Just seems more people over here prefer darker tone then?

Re: What is this stone worth? Did I get a good deal?

Just guessing, but always feel the board 'experts' here recommend stones which are too light (e.g. like blue topaz depth of colour). I wonder if different parts of the world like the UK where I am would rank different. I always hear and read in gemology articles that Royal Blue is the most sought af...

Low clarity and low color. SI1 and lower may have visible inclusions to the eye.

Re: Help! Victor's sketch idea for my pear!

Just wondering if Victor thinks the side detail he suggested does something for the diamond shape - like making it look bigger in width or length or somehow accentuates it or is it just a design detail? Came to my mind and thought I would ask, just incase he had said anything? I am happy you have se...

Re: Need help finding my Cushion Diamond

Notice on James Allen you can now take the magnification down to 1 x, when looking at the stone like this which is the diamonds actual size?, it does not show the black other than as black/white scintillation in my opinion.

Re: 1.5 Carat RB Diamond color

For colour, yes I would notice a difference but the real answer is what you think. Everyone has different likes and dislikes and with antique jewellery being in fashion the warmer diamonds suit it better. It is really all the same, if you go larger you go down in colour unless there is a lot of mone...

Re: 1.5 Carat RB Diamond color

Wink has noticed the most important thing here, but then he is the professional.

As he said a 1 carat diamond should be 6.5mm so these sizes you are quoting are for less than a half carat which in round is usually 5mm.

Is it maybe depth you are mixing up with diameter?

Re: Help! Victor's sketch idea for my pear!

Just remembered, didn't you say before that size was important to you, so I would have thought a halo would be a number one thing for the ring design for you. I know the diamond is large so maybe you have got the size you want now.

Re: Help! Victor's sketch idea for my pear!

For me I personally like the bright cut and the design Victor has suggested for an antique pear. I like the u-cut too but with a round rather than pear shape.

Re: Help! Victor's sketch idea for my pear!

If your heart is set on the u-cut then I would go with the u-cut but not in that style as I don't think it would suit it having three parts. This is one of these threads where it is dangerous to get swayed with what pricescopers' say, if I were you I would look at all his ring designs already made a...

To see the best examples of coloured diamonds look at Kenny s posts, he has the most beautiful colors although not all big diamonds a lot more beautiful than most of the big ones you will see unless in a museum. Re: Fancy purplish pink pear 0.48ct but I3 clarity

Clarity is about how clear a diamond is. I used to be the most paranoid here about feathers and breakage until I found out it was just marketing to get you to spend more money. A diamond which will break will have outside shards and you would not buy it anyway. A diamond of all clarity grades can br...
