I could never buy from Tiffany's, the feel good in exchange for more money, after your experience - the feel good would be gone. Don't care for the white circle I can see under the table. I don't know much about fancy cuts though.

Re: Help choosing ideal cut 2+ carat diamond

Feathers are at edge of this stone and clouds are under the table. The crown height is only 33.2 but cut grade is an AGS000.

Re: Similar Settings to the Cartier 1885

You know unless it is size, flash you are after, I think that if that ring on ebay went for $21000 in an H color and Cartier to boot, that it is well worth the price and worth more on the secondary market than your new ring bought from the vendors would be, provided it is appraised as in great condi...

Re: Authenticating Tiffany platinum band - impossible?

I don't know about your band but I know that there is a Tiffany store in London. In the UK platinum is only recognised as platinum and hallmarked as such if the platinum content is 950, this is why I did not get a ring made with suggested other mix people here on Pricescope request when I was orderi...

Re: Personal opinions of M color diamonds - Help my purchase

As far as looking yellow that will only happen if the diamond has a yellow hue, some do and others are grey, brown or green. So any stone may tend to look greyer or browner rather than yellow in the lower color. As a previous poster said it may look cream, I think cream comes from diamonds with a br...

Re: Unheated Burma sapphire set in Sebastien Barier Octagon

Really beatiful and Unheated too. I remember reading that round was difficult to get as more rough was required for the deeper pavillion as compared to oval, the size is huge too. The Necklace and earrings are beautiful too. Looks like Royal jewels.
Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

Thanks for the comparison. I can see a color difference between my G and a CZ but it doesn't bother me enough to pay thousands more to get it to look like a cz :) I have a round now and I had a princess before. I can honestly say that my H princess was equally as white as my SIL F when we had them ...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

Yes I had noticed this when looking a prices and even in local stores and especially when searching the prices on pricescope and looking at stones from different vendors here, that clarity seemed more expensive than color but a lot more when combined with a better color. In the fancy colors, color i...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

Yes it is really interesting. I have never looked much at color diamonds because I know the pink ones are what I like and how expensive they are. I have read though the colored stone forum a few times and see how difficult it is to find a color and how different people want different in a sapphire c...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

What are the other reasons a D costs more besides rarity, I know about clarity, cut etc, but is there something else we wouldn't know not being in the trade? Do you mean like a 3 carat D is not as expensive say as a 15 carat M or is it like graining, transparency or something other I have never hear...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

I wonder too how much this is changeable as we may love something for a year or two and then move onto another completely opposite taste because fashions change or we change. Diamonds mean nothing to some people much as we can't imagine here :wall:

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

Hi Rockdiamond Yes I realise that carat, clarity and cut do too. I also read somewhere that rarity can vary in each grade so two identical diamonds by grade names could still be different regarding transparency etc. Would the test Rockdoc was speaking about just be a normal eyesight test then, if th...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

The more I think about it, I think that Colorless above G is a rarity thing and is more than how sparkly and beautiful a diamond is, maybe not more but a different category really. High clarity is too, perhaps a rarity thing and also a mind clean thing as is written lots of times. It is like the pur...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

Another thing I find interesting is that it was mentioned on here and don't know if it was a new discovery in eyesight or not. Japanese people and other asian people tend to go for smaller high color and high clarity diamonds, lots of them on here in the past have got like a 40 point or half carat i...

Re: GIA J colour diamond in platinum comparison with colourl

There is always mention of a J not looking yellow, I notice most J's look towards grey that I have seen, remember yellow, brown, grey, green are all hues of diamond color, they are not all cut from rough with a yellow hue, but the L's I have seen tend to be from the yellower rough. Most J's I have s...

AGS have ideal cut Princess Cut grades. I believe Crafted by Infinity cut them to ideal standards. Wink at High Performance Diamonds is one of their dealers.

I am glad this thread went on. I have really learned a lot from it. Great thread explaining the industry from professionals and pricescopers who replied to Goldsteins posts. I think this thread should be a sticky.

I have a 24 carat blue topaz ring but would not wear it every day. I would do away with the metal surrounding your stone but that is just my taste and may not be yours.

Might wait a long long time to be offered a 5 ct D FL from the multi millionaire though, maybe 70 years marriage. It was a gift in the scenario.

Re: Q about OECs. Why do most PSers prefer...

A 5ct is far too big for my fingers and people would talk about me if I wore that size where I live. I would definitely want a round brilliant though, the VVS or VS would be fine and DEF or even G. I would rather they bought me a house for the money. A good old gold, whiteflash, bgd or crafted by in...

Re: Q about OECs. Why do most PSers prefer...

I would love a pink diamond but a half carat best color is too expensive, too small for my taste for the money. So it happens there too. Id thought about a 20 point one and could not stomach the price there, and now have been thinking about a 40 point lighter color but think I would want the more pi...

Re: Q about OECs. Why do most PSers prefer...

Everyone sees and prefers different things, to me I have said before, the darker colors remind me of dirty slush when the snow has got dirty and also dirty dish washing water whereas the colorless ones DEF or near colorless G to J remind me of the new snow or bubbles.
