Re: Seeking Advice: Sydney Jeweler, Garry Holloway or Import

You will not see people here recommending Garry Holloway because he has never promoted his own business in Australia here due to conflict with his ownership of part of Pricescope forums. Most people here are in America too so have no experience buying in Australia. I also know that people realise so...

Re: Diamond ring + Brilliant Earth advice

The A Cut Above diamonds that Whiteflash hold are all AGS0 certified as being ideal and are rounds. However, the company which Wink is an agent for was the first to design and cut AGS0 ideal princess cut diamonds. This company is based in Antwerp in Europe and its name is Crafted by Infinity, ask Wi...

Re: Final 2 stones - ordering Saturday - final thoughts plea

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD06189569?click_id=767927392 I have someone in the US that I can ship too and then pick up from - hence not needing to pay the 20% + import tax etc. Don't think I would call it 'not needing', that is illegal and fraud to do such a thing. In the past posters ...

Re: How many people have or buy D IF diamonds?

I think what Flying Pig was getting at is that only AGS or GIA papers as seen to be accurate and other labs grade higher than what is correct for the stone.

Regarding D IF, that is a great stone, rarity is worth and costs more and you have size also in a 2 carat.

I think she is trying to design the ring like art deco but the original shape you want is more Edwardian.

Re: Updated Cadd, needs work or an I obsessing?

You can't replace a stone in a bezel setting, as the bezel gets completely destroyed when removing
the old stone.

Re: Can this be done? Trying to make a Jackie-O ring.

Found from a Google image search, this version has fancy cut stones though. http://pixel.brit.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/jackie-kennedy-engagement-ring.jpg ken.jpg Gives an idea of how big the centre stones may be in proportion to the marquises, so maybe need smaller marquises..

Re: Lost my engagement ring

Bebe_tc Just incase you don't know Bebe, once a good stone is highlighted here other surfers snap them up, you should put the two on hold which Mrs Blop has recommended or approved for you or you may find them gone the next time you look. Re: Help with a 5ct+ ring

If I found out he bought his mom a ring, then the engagement would be off, no doubt about it.

If this is true, I reckon he has two wives, different culture as you say.

Re: Help with a 5ct+ ring

I am in the UK and not America. However, no way would a mother be getting a ring at the same time as the son got engaged. That is just off in my book. If she got a ring at a later date like a few years, then it may be a cluster with a colored stone but never a large diamond. I know we have seen the ...

I prefer round brilliant but OEC as a dress ring or antique look ring. Re: Would you buy this diamond?!

Remember though a much as there is good information here about cut as well as all other points, this board is biased towards cut, in the same way a previous board was biased towards clarity above anything else.

Re: Would you buy this diamond?!

As you have chosen a diamond rather than a semi-precious stone, do you or your girlfriend like rarity. A D IF is more rare than a I SI2. As Kenny said above though it is personal preference. If you had the money would you buy the rarist car of a type or their middle range version of the same type? I...

Wonder if Pippa Middleton's engagement has something to do with the availability of asschers? I have been waiting to see if
many people are going to enquire about asschers. Maybe they are being re-priced? :eh:

Re: What is this stone worth? Did I get a good deal?

Thank you for all this information. Would the royal blue stones to the right of this chart be more or less costly in general than the $12,000 per carat stated for the two stones in the selection you made? Also would the price go down as you go down the chart and up as you go towards the top of the e...

Stone two is not too big for her finger at all, we have people on here with 3 carat stones on size three fingers and it looks great. It is an interesting topic. My lady's finger size is 3.5. Re: What is this stone worth? Did I get a good deal?

Just guessing, but always feel the board 'experts' here recommend stones which are too light (e.g. like blue topaz depth of colour). I wonder if different parts of the world like the UK where I am would rank different. I always hear and read in gemology articles that Royal Blue is the most sought af...
