Re: DiamondPro Blog "Can't Recommend Whiteflash diamonds..."

  Lots of men have moustaches like Bryan's, it is not an out of the way huge curly ends one. Many people have their own grievance but 4 out of hundreds does not make it valid in a large group. It reminds me of the reviews on retail websites, e.g. a pair of shoes may have 35 good reviews an...

Re: DiamondPro Blog "Can't Recommend Whiteflash diamonds..."

Old hands :hand: :hand: :hand:     Now that's an idea, the PS vendors could pay some hand models to model the rings. A big circle photo next to our own with our rings on perfect hand models ring size 2 to 3. Then we could see how big the rocks look and not get...

Re: Having buyer's remorse after shane co purchase.....

I really think ,$6000 is a lot to spend on a setting, styles change. If you are rich then maybe $6000 on a $190,000 diamond or if you are older and know you will stay with that setting for the next 20 years. For the ratio of cost to a diamond of say $10,000, that could pay for quite an upgrade in co...

Re: size of diamond

1 carat is 100 points and well cut should be 6.5mm. A 0.84 point would be about 6mm so half of a mm smaller than 1 carat, so between 0.84 and 0.90 you are talking about fractions of a quarter mm, look at a ruler and divide a mm into 4 and that is a quarter mm so smaller than that. Diamonds however s...

Re: Color dilemma now..

You should really view an H color. I like colourless or G but not H, and this was a 0.50 carat H which had a yellow tint to me. I asked if that stone was a G along with the others and the jeweller said, no it is actually a GIA H color. I saw the color straight away face up.

Re: Do Cut Too Deep or Cut Too Shallow RB diamonds even exis

GIA Triple Ex is the rarest cut considering the total amount of diamonds in the market. AGS000 much, much, much more rare. Not because there aren't stones that won't match 000 criteria but mainly because there's a whole world other than USA who has no idea about AGS. And because there is also a who...

Re: How much does a poor cut impact colour

Some diamonds do not have yellow body color but can have grey or brown instead. A steely color is probably going down the color scale to grey and not yellow.

Re: PEAR vs EMERALD - help me pick!

I voted the pear. I like the width on the pear. I am a round brilliant diamond person though. It is good to see responses but really is your and only your choice when it costs this much money.

I notice quite a lot of posts here where newbies and members discuss not paying taxes or shipping elsewhere. There used to be people who warned that they knew the customs authorities read this site but I don't know if that is the case still.

Re: And now I'm considering a Pear cut.....emeralds are tric

Yoram is a master diamond cutter who cut some of the AVR's which Good Old Gold sell and not forgetting the Octavian cuts which he cut and helped KarlK a bit to convert from his designs. Gypsy means a 3d scan so that all the angles of the diamond are known for Yoram to cut a few new diamonds which lo...

Re: Unhappy LAD/Chloe customer

The prongs look good like that and are in keeping with the shape of the stone and basket as Erica said. One of the jewellers can probably assure you about that? Why email everyday though, things do not change that fast? I would see myself emailing once in 3 weeks maybe and even then I would hold off...

Re: And now I'm considering a Pear cut.....emeralds are tric

Chunky facets on this pear would be more like Oldminer cut than old European cut, wouldn't they be from that era? I hope you are more into that look then precision as this will be nothing like princess or modern emerald but more like that old antique emerald three stone everyone was admiring at one ...

Re: Help me replicate Tiffany & Co Victoria earrings!!

Four 3 point diamonds for $2000, no way. I have never seen them of course. One time years ago I held a 12 point diamond out of a ring a jeweller removed it from and I could not believe how tiny a sliver it was as looked so much bigger in the side stone setting. A 3 point stone will just feel not muc...

Re: Impending purchase! 2.3 carat: Which would you buy? Plz

Even if you do save money at a local jeweller that is good, some bricks and mortar stores try their best to give good customer service, in fact most online vendors Pricescopers use have local stores too. If you are a jeweller read about some of the smaller businesses here and think about joining us ...

Re: Impending purchase! 2.3 carat: Which would you buy? Plz

How would i be able to track which is the "Better" coloured "I"? This is why you don't buy online. At the jeweler you can compare side by side and make your decision. You can bargain in the store (showing them your online diamonds) and they'll bring the price down for you. I got...

I just meant save it more from breakage (doesn't make sense when I think about it but is a phrase used over in the UK every day, never thought about it before).
