Re: When did you reset/upgrade your ring?

Never happens in Britain. Another ring is not your engagement ring but a right hand ring. Could wear on left hand but no one does that or really buys right hand rings. An eternity ring may be added to the engagent ring but probably no bigger than half carat or so total.

Re: James Allen refusing to give ASET images?

I remember seeing on Dallas, Sue Ellen's ring when I was a teenager and I just loved it. it was large and rectangular and I think a crushed ice radiant. I remember they were sitting outside for breakfast. I would love to see it again. I have looked on Google but just seem to find a later ring she go...

Re: Which "I" is more "colorless"?

I seem to remember reading something about look how clear as in sharply you can see the edges or corners, point of the stone too as less color looks sharper in shape.

Re: Which "I" is more "colorless"?

An odd observation on the way brains work. When you're color grading, you need to switch which stone is on the left and right to get a full picture. Every one has a slight color bias to one side. Normally you see color better towards the same side as the hand you write with but not always. GIA teac...

Re: Setter's remorse

I think the second one probably looks more like the expensive ones than the first because there is less metal so it is more in proportion to them. Maybe look at the show me your halo thread and compare there. These expensive rings usually do have tiny pave so it could be more similar to them.

Re: Setter's remorse

I selected yes but I don't think cheap cheap but looks lesser than your first one, I prefer the original. They both however look a lot cheaper than Leon Mege styles where the prongs are finished in the antique way where you see four together on the edges of stones and a scalloped wall beneath each s...

Re: VVS2 F vs VS1 E- Help...which one is better?

That is really personal preference. Have you had the cut checked. To most people a G VS2 would look the same as the two you chose but would be bigger I appearance to the eye for the same amount of money.

I am getting another stone from Doug from the natural blue topaz mother ship. It will be an oval somewhere between 3.5 and 4.5 carats he said. I got a choice of two cuts he thought would work and have chosen the omni. He is hoping to cut it this week. I am going to ask for it to be set in a gold rin...

Re: Update on post#3884990

A natural or an indented natural is a clarity characteristic, maybe you know this. An indented natural can look like a chip but is not one and has always been there and has rough diamond skin on it to prove it is that and not a chip. it is a natural flaw in the diamond not damage. More expensive dia...

Re: Update on post#3884990

Did you ask if you paid a fair price for vs2 stones of that cut quality? You would not get more discount for a crystal so a natural would not give you any either, these things are considered when pricing in the first place, that's why a Flawless grade is more than VVS2 etc.

Re: Opinion on Color v. Carat in RB

For the largest diamond go for No 1. For the diamond made out of the best material diamond stone go for No 3. Lots now believe that ideal cutting can let you see the beauty and cover up a lower color which in the past we did not have, although I don't understand that because the old European cuts se...

Check out Good Old Gold for Helium Scan and also although some diamonds have an AGS cert they will tell you from the helium scan how your diamond would grade for cut in GIA terms. Color would only be an opinion though unless you get a GIA certificate. Then again though, with buying a GIA certed diam...
