Re: What do you call tiny little balls?

Well Diamondseeker2006, you had me confused. I was sitting thinking for a minute what marquise shapes had to do with it, then I remembered american football, being in the UK I just thought of a football as a scottish football is like a round sphere. :)

Re: Help! Where can I buy a diamond eng. ring in Miami area?

I am not in the USA. Diamondbrokers of Florida have had an internet presence all the time I have been on diamond boards, both on this one and a previous site I used to frequent. They are a couple Jan and Brad. I would not hesitate to buy from them. However I don't know how far away from the area you...

Whiteflash does not accept international credit cards. This is stated on their site. Good Old Gold doesn't either.

Re: What do you call tiny little balls?

OP it has just occurred to me, are you seeing the shank like a framework - like scaffolding, and the diamonds as being 3 d balls set within the whole shank of the ring. If so, do you know about 3 sided pave rings, the pave diamonds are set on the side of the ring as well as on top of the shank. Some...

Re: What do you call tiny little balls?

The Leon Mege bubble pave I am finding just seems to be collet set diamonds, like bezel set. This is not the look I was meaning by the bubble look I have seen. I think it is a photography thing maybe

Re: What do you call tiny little balls?

Wonder if the bubble effect is just a photography trick, with some kind of contrast or shadow or something or high zoom. I feel
like when you see it, you can almost see a space between the crowns of each diamond.

Re: What do you call tiny little balls?

I was going to mention rose cut but notice someone else has but they have flat bottoms unless they are double rosecuts. Never seen that in tiny diamonds. I have also noticed on some of the new pave rings shown here that sometimes they look a bit like a bubble, especially when looking at pave on a ha...

Re: Unheated Internally Flawless Sapphire (Origin Inconclusi

I have read that with emeralds that a three phase inclusion (e.g. a gas bubble and dolomite crystal with typical jagged outline seen in syngenetic inclusions) can determine origin of colombia but an inclusion of only one type say a crystal can not tell them origin. Is this not the type of thing Rock...

Re: How would you maximize $40K, within these specs?

I agree diamondseeker2006, I have read they may cut them different to get the ideal by changing star facets and pavillion halfs or other minor facets on the diamond, just wonder which they change though and how they know it will be better when that information is not out here on the pricescope board...

Re: How would you maximize $40K, within these specs?

I have noticed that some of the AGS000 ideal cuts get only 3 vg and 1 ex and they are supposed to be ideal cut without
the hca.

Re: Photos of my e-ring, am I being too picky about the sett

I was meaning the same in my earlier post, the sides are too flat that to just shave down the prongs may end up with it looking funny looking like an amateur has done it. The prongs are the design. If they are not what the owner wants they should take it up with Whiteflash that they don't feel the d...

Re: Photos of my e-ring, am I being too picky about the sett

I think the ring looks fine now seeing the photos on the hand, I was imagining the bottom two prongs being further up towards the middle of the stone. My feeling is I would not like it with just three square looking prongs, and if the bottom prongs were removed I would not like it with just two squa...

Re: FCD CAD assistance request

I have seen some really good ideas come out on this board from pricescopers, and maybe some of them are very artistic. Wonder Chrono if you could draw out a sketch of what you want with the romanov design features, even if very rough because someone may be able to get something from that and sketch ...

Re: What is this treatment called (pic inside)

The metal on the band looks quite soft and marked. It looks like tarnished silver to me. Just guessing. There is black rhodium plating that is sometimes a finish on modern rings but it looks very dark black and not like that at all. Platinum can look gun metal color when it has a patina but this loo...

Are melee diamond rings really a vintage or antique look?

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/vintage-and-antique-style-rings/#axzz2y18SfeEK

Read this morning and found interesting.

Various people answered and seems the look is trying to copy fillagree and engraving but adding micro diamonds.
MAYBE?

Re: Photos of my e-ring, am I being too picky about the sett

Think that is just the style of the setting and not done incorrectly. I am in the UK and have asked someone else here to look and they like the setting as is too. I don't like the other setting picture posted and feel it makes the bottom of the stone look bald or narrow. If you look at the v shape i...

Re: Am I crazy? An I1 for my matching stud?? Help please..

I would wait until I had the money to match it to my original stone? After reading your other posts, would this affect your ring setting project? If you have the money, but don't want to spend, then you have a reason, but take your time to find out what that is and what you really want longterm. Of ...

Re: UPDATE W/ pics- 2.5 carat I Color I1 had arrived!!

Seems to me that the inclusion is in the best place as it is being hidden a bit by the bowtie. I quite like
the diamond and it's shape. The inclusion was in the middle of the stone I believe.

Re: D FL/IF worth it?

I remember this topic being discussed from years ago and the late Rockdoc, an appraiser who was an expert on the forum, said when others were writing about the diamond no longer being Flawless, perhaps due to just the setting of the stone, which he agreed could happen. He added though that this was ...

Not after the 'please don't leave' either, I can't standing that either. Hi Karl :wavey: Yes I can see that consumers can look and make up their mind what they like best.
