Re: Did I get cheated by one of the site sponsors?

Hey Hey Hey I went to the GIA site and looked up your report number and it states on the website it is SI2 but if you download the report in the upper right of the screen you can see the actual report pdf and it states I SI1 . I REALLY HOPE THIS IS CORRECT AND GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, I really do. I know ...

Re: Did I get cheated by one of the site sponsors?

Re denverappraisers reply, so they probably would have wanted AGS000 and GIA grade to have the same clarity and colour and then would have sold it with both reports, but since one had lower clarity sold it for the most money with the higher grades. Therefore they got GIA to inscribe it when they were...

Re: Did I get cheated by one of the site sponsors?

I wonder if it was originally a GIA graded diamond which got damaged, repaired, graded by AGS and then they tried to get an updated grade from GIA. I do not think this really may be happened just a thought and wonder????

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I am not sure but it seems as though my posts are getting intercepted here. I have decided to leave this board, there are not many users everyday and it seems to just be a small club now for old cut lovers. I have been told before by a computer person that this board is trying to get into my compute...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I notice that this forum is not so much geared towards couples getting engaged for the first time as towards the perfect ring for the middle aged or older woman. Here we are talking about copying rings, the designer rings will be copies in less than great form, because most couples getting a house a...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I like this way of thinking about things, Rainwood. And Gypsy I agree that maybe changing how we approach things on RT will help with the issue. I thought you explained things well in the thread mentioned above. As an overall point that isn't necessarily germane to this thread: I find it so frustra...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I notice that most of those antique rings look pretty lower colored, the diamonds look like they have a grey undertone mostly rather than yellow, or they are poor cut. It looks nothing like the bright white diamonds you see on sites with modern rings. http://www.antiquejewellerycompany.com/shop/edwa...

http://www.antiquejewellerycompany.com/jewellery-type/antique-rings/antique-engagement-rings/? Here you go, lots of styles and these are antique there are thousands or millions of modern styles over in the UK too. No design is unique unless it is through the lines of a very good artist designer who...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

To play devils advocate here though, when buyers choose a 3 carat, J SI1 ideal cut stone for say $28,000 aren't they doing the same (minus the stealing a design), I mean they are replicating someone's diamond which was a 3 carat, F VS1 ideal cut diamond for $90,000. Whilst this is nothing to do wit...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I know that if there is a lawsuit about a copyright infringement it will relate to the USA only here, but I just want to add that many times I have seen people writing about a design or saying it is unusual and although it is among the designs we see here on Pricescope, there have been times, I have...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

Some of the copied designs we would not see as a copy is because we do not have trained eyes to see the actual curves and angles that the original artist designer in a top house can. The work may be porous and the quality control not as good too, not saying it has to be but chances are, plus it was ...

Re: What constitutes an inspired by piece vs. stealing desig

I know that when we copy an artists work it is not okay, e.g. the artist has spent years getting their skills and using their talent and someone comes along and takes a mould of it and sells it for a high price but puts no real work into it. I wonder though if people doing this are not able to buy t...

Re: real world examples of poor performing stones

These would all get fair or poor for cutting. Very Good is a lot better. Not all James Allen diamonds offered are ideal within the Pricescope guideline but if you look at the videos on the site where people have chosen diamonds you cannot tell the difference between cut difference of ideal (one whic...

Re: How many people have or buy D IF diamonds?

I think what Flying Pig was getting at is that only AGS or GIA papers as seen to be accurate and other labs grade higher than what is correct for the stone.

Regarding D IF, that is a great stone, rarity is worth and costs more and you have size also in a 2 carat.

Re: Updated Cadd, needs work or an I obsessing?

You can't replace a stone in a bezel setting, as the bezel gets completely destroyed when removing
the old stone.

Re: Can this be done? Trying to make a Jackie-O ring.

Found from a Google image search, this version has fancy cut stones though. http://pixel.brit.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/jackie-kennedy-engagement-ring.jpg ken.jpg Gives an idea of how big the centre stones may be in proportion to the marquises, so maybe need smaller marquises..

Bebe_tc Just incase you don't know Bebe, once a good stone is highlighted here other surfers snap them up, you should put the two on hold which Mrs Blop has recommended or approved for you or you may find them gone the next time you look.
