Re: Help from Singapore on a 2.5ct

An ideal spread would be 8.8mm. I know the girdle is a bit wide and the crown makes it a steep deep, but does it sparkle to your liking in different lights, do you see colored light and white light. At that price as you said something has to go. It is still a lot
bigger than a 2 carat.

Re: Change in price of a daimond

I am thinking now it doesn't really matter as was written before by someone in this thread, the diamond price stops at what you buy it. I just wonder if I was to upgrade to this other comparable diamond though would I be paying more for it, when the ring I own is really worth the same amount now sin...

Re: LONG, SOOOOO upset ...need REAL jewelers opinion PIC HEA

I had a ring once I got from a chain store, although one of the better ones, it had to be sized as I had quite small finger, three times, I tried with them but they could not seem to see that I wanted it to look like the original ring had. Then one day the manager told me they were going to send it ...

If upgrading I would have to get up to this price before even starting if the diamond is worth as much. I realise it would be done through contact with the
vendor.

http://www.http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-30594 The comparable diamond. On Whiteflash it is listed as alternative to my diamond but it is $16000 more, so does this just mean a similar large diamond or has mine increased in price? The diamond which was near to mine ...

Re: What does a feather look like?

I look at it that a feather is a flaw but a crystal is an impurity. Clear crystals in diamond can be Olivine/Peridot and they can also be negative meaning they are hollow inside or are a hollow etch in the diamond. Dark crystals can be garnet. Crystals in diamond also show up easier than feathers un...

The comparable stone is the 3.08 and it is 13k more than my sold price. My stone was more than the 2.07 but now seems even more. don't know if alternative means the same price.

Re: Change in price of a daimond

The pricescope market graph is just for carat weight unless I am looking at the wrong chart.

I just looked and the 3 carat stone which is comparable to mine is actually $13,000 more expensive. The 3.083 G VS1. Just noticed the word on the whiteflash site is 'alternative' not comparable.

Re: Change in price of a daimond

I would really like to know how pricing works, as my diamond instead of going down $5000 (although sold ofcourse) has a comparable diamond shown on the whiteflash site which is $8000 more than mine. Mine was listed along with this diamond so I know how much the price difference was from this one. Ho...

Re: Change in price of a daimond

I forgot I had written about this before. Yes it is the VVS1 diamond not VVS2. So since last year this diamond has gone from $60,000 to $70,00 then back down to $60.000, now to $55,000 between Sep 2013 and Oct 2014 and prior it was listed at $78,000 (2011). Change in price of a daimond

I noticed that there is a diamond on Whiteflash site which has come down in price by $5000 dollars. As the price charts here show no change in that carat weight, does this mean the changes are to do with clarity, thing or color perhaps. Just wondering how all the pricing works, I suppose anyone can ...

Re: Pet Peeve: Tabloid e-ring guestimates

We don't have a word karat in the United Kingdom, we use carat for both gold content and for diamond weight. Diamond and gemstone carat weight is not often mentioned here, especially when the Late Lady Di got engaged, so it would have been used for 18 carat gold, if the mention of it came from over ...

I would say they glimmer. I like them. As someone said it is the way the light passes over the surface of the facets, and no one has said but one of the main things I like is that the facets are all triangles. I saw a scarf last year with diamond like fire colors done the same way in triangles and b...

I think if you have not been here since the promotion of the hearts and arrows cut and high color you don't understand what AGBF is really feeling. I think a lot of the interest on pricescope began with Surfgirl's transitional cut diamond. I remember she also liked antique ring boxes and there was a thread with the lovel...

Re: Why is PS slower than 10 yrs ago?

If someone has a budget though of say $7000 the helpers are always saying if you go down in clarity or color you could go up in size, then they list links for diamonds in that way (I know many come on the board asking for the largest diamond they could get), we never see though it being said, Do you...

Re: Why is PS slower than 10 yrs ago?

Has the internet made dianonds more affordable but taken the preciousness out of them? I think that happened for me though, when I read there were enough diamonds in the world to give every man, woman and child in America a paper cup full of them. Maybe how they are promoted here is right Kenny, and...

Re: Why is PS slower than 10 yrs ago?

Are large, well cut diamonds of lower color and clarity sold in the USA at places like Tiffany, no they only sell down to I color. Are they sold in the jewellers of America, or are they an internet created product. So people won't go to their local jeweller to buy a 1.10 G color VS2 because they can...

I am in the UK so maybe it is different from my perspective, but I grew up thinking diamonds, rubies and sapphires were precious stones, cost lots and lots of money, like a princess would wear, but here the vibe is not for the most precious stone but the more affordable stone which is BIG whether it...

Sorry but I feel the same way as Kenny. In the same way Gypsy has in her advice note...

How about then the diamonds are not on an equal level and we leave bargain out of it. So it looks the same to amateur eyes but is not the same. Re: Cost of e-ring inversely related to success of marriage?

No relation in the UK as diamonds here are small or lots of people get a larger gemstone. Engagement ring as nothing to do with success of marriage at all, I would say that peoples personalities are more relevant, you have to marry someone who is like you, not in hobbies etc but in personality traits.
